Tried them when I was shopping last spring. Really, really nice to hit, and the longest I tested (vs MX-25s, MX-19s, MX-900s, TM r7s, G5s).

Probably the nicest irons of all those I hit, and I wish I'd bought them, but I swallowed all the magazine articles about how I needed extreme buckets, and how easy Pings were to use, and went for those instead. I was young and naive then.

My Dad's looking for new irons and I'm trying to persuade him to try them.

sounds good from wat you have said im lookin for a range that has them on demo.

My choice is between these or 2nd hand cally x18's

The rental clubs I used in Florida a couple of weeks back where Cobra FP's and I really liked the longer irons but found the wedges a bit big for my liking (currently play Titleist 804's).

Check what clubs you are getting in the set for that price. I was thinking about getting some even if to only use the 3, 4 and maybe 5 iron - but the sets I found only started at the 5.

There is a section on the Cobra web site where you put in your post code and it lists the nearest demo days. If it is anywhere near you I was one of those at the Belfry yesterday and their price was not bad.

Andy, Can't the pro shop where you work get them in as a trial set for you? They are a National Fitting centre after all!

Jonathan - played Southern Dunes last year which I would highly recommend, not much water but a lots of sand. Played Providence this year which was OK (other than the condition of one green) for a course which has only been open for a year. Celebration, Champions Gate and Harmony Preserve (which is a bit further out) are all meant to be good. I have not played the Disney courses but understand they are very expensive compared to the others around.

Have a look on www.teebone.com and then pick up some of the vouchers in the tourist/golf guides when you get out there. Given the large choice I am sure you will find something to suit. Most places have rental clubs and if you are playing on your own are happy to pair you up with someone if you want.

Glad to hear it, Andy - except it makes me even more jealous and annoyed at myself for not going with my instincts! Though I'm glad to report the Pings are also working pretty well this year - it's the driver that's costing me now.
