Luncheon Vouchers are fine 1 over, preferably ones I can use in Tesco's to buy boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

After four years of excellent putting with my beautiful blade Fisher Touch putter with a medium-soft insert I went off it for five months not being able to hole anything over a foot!

SO, following the recommendation in this thread I bought a NEW Wilson KC 2 putter as I mentioned earlier. The inevitable ocurred, Murphy's or Sod's law applied. Whilst my Wilson was in the post I used my FT in an important medal where anything under 12 feet became a gimme and three went in from much further away!

However, all posters might imagine my surprise and delight to find that in my next competition I used the equally beautiful Wilson with only five minutes on the practice putting green and achieved exactly the same result!

Of course, I suppose that if I had practised what I have always preached about putting that it is almost always the person using the putter who is the problem in poor putting I could have saved myself £50(the cost to me inc postage) but then again the RRP is £119 and £ 65 is the next cheapest price of the Wilson I have come across!

The Wilson KC is a beautiful putter Boa - I'm just getting used to my KC3 semi mallet.

Trouble is, with so many possible combinations of head weight and backweight I got confused. I Finally opted for the heaviest head weight and 60 gram in the butt. Hated the standard grip though and have changed it for a Golf Pride New Decade (see thread) which I also have on my Scotty. Now it is tailored exactly to my preferences and I really like it - superb bit of kit for the 60 odd bucks that it cost, including a bag of weights and the best putter headcover I have seen. Yours at 50 quid was an absolute bargain.

So now I have a heavy semi mallet putter for this time of year and will no doubt return to my Scotty blade putter for faster summer greens.

1 over

Is Creo's tip still working for you?

I find it very good from 3ft in, and am building confidence every time I play.(Thanks Creo)But you seem to be using it from greater distances than that(unless I'm misinterpreting your posts)do you make any changes to the basic precept?

Hell yes! I played friday and holed virtually everything from five foot, I think I only missed one and that was a lip out!

I use the same priciple from longer distances and have had some good results but it definately is a winner from 5 feet and in!

No changes to be made! just follow through your putting stroke with the face aiming DIRECTLY at the hole and If you have read the Break correctly the ball will drop in the hole!

Welcome mate but you should really thank Creo!

I did,but only in brackets!

So thank you Creo, perhaps this is the 1st stroke I can knock off my handicap(of the 3 required) to get to single figures.

Nice that one of my suggestions has helped out!

Personally I only really use this on short putts if I have been shakey on them, but I think its a valid technique for all putts to about 10 feet, after that speed is more important than line.

I've suggested this tip to several friends when they have been struggling, and it appears to have helped every one of them, so I do think there is something in it.

For me, when I use it, the thing I like the most is that it gives me just one thing to focus on and the calm confidence that if I do this then the putt WILL drop, somehow takes the anxiety away the stroke and shot.
