MD golf Aurora's

The best beginners clubs at under £150! You even get a couple of Blackhawk Hybrids (£35 each if bought independantly) to Replace the difficult 3 and 4 Irons!

Top Golf Bargain!

Or if RAM floats Your Boat New FX i's £129 for 5-S/W Another good buy!

TRY, TRY, TRY before you buy!!!

thanks alot, the thing is im looking at a full package set and not just a set of irons..

also its hard for me to try before buying as majority of local golf shops dont stock all the different sets you find on the net.

Before you Go to Arsegoss Look on the various golf shops online they all do complete packages and are better value than the former Catalogue company.

I would recommend getting hold of a decent set of second hand irons as a starter. the rest can be added as you go.

When I started I got a used set of ping i3 irons for £175. I then started to add to that club at a time.

I have just replaced the irons with G10's and if I wanted to I could probably get £150 minimum for my old irons if I wanted to part with them.

I think a complete set is probably unnecesarry at this time in your golfing career.

Drivers, woods, low irons are probably going to be difficult to hit until your ability improves. So my advise would be to buy a 3/4 set missing out woods, a driver and extra wedges.

Your money would be much better spend on good quality equipment (MD stuff is awesome) that will be of use to you rather than paying for half a set of clubs you wont/cant use.

Then you add to your bag as your ability increases.
I have been playing for probably 12 years and only the last 3 or 4 have I used a driver and woods.

Thanks again for the advice, i have never heard of MD before but seems you guys rate them.

So where would be a good place to start looking for a set of irons, putter, bag etc?

Your local golf club proshop would be great place to start

I agree. Pro shops. Try some out and then if you can get them cheaper online great but you have to have a go with them. See what feels right.

I reckon if you went to see a pro he could sort you out with a carry bag, a putter and 1/2 or 3/4 set for £150 easy.

And remember that new doesnt always mean better!  My brothers ping putter is probably 12 to 15  years old and still works like a treat! Second hand bins could get you some amazing gear at great prices.Even ex-demo gear. Until you are playing regularly theres no point having fantastic gear.

I know what you mean Chris I used to live in Streatham. The nearest place I can think of is Bill Woodmans golf shop they're based in the driving range in Long Lane in Croydon. From what I can remember they carry a wide range of stock and will match any advertised price (its been years since i've been there though).

The best thing though is that you can try clubs out on the range before you  buy.
