I won £100.00 in a raffle so decided to buy a 33" Sabertooth putter and await its arrival in the next week or so. Has anyone used this putter yet.

I tried one in 34in in the shop on a Huxley putting mat and it felt the same as most Odyssey putters ~ Nice balance, soft feel off the XG white insert and looked good too!

But as I already have 3 Odyssey's (and not a two ball amongst them) I didn't but it!

I tried this and the older fang model when I was out looking for a new flat stick the other week - I just find the XG insert TOO soft!

I tried one a fw weeks ago. Feels nice. Looks a bit odd though.

John - have you just ordered this on looks or have you actually given it a try??

And why do people on this board buy something and only then ask if it's any good or not?!?! HAHAHAHA!!!

Slayer - usually to say "look what I've gone and bought!"!! We've all done it - and nobody else will listen!

I had a go with it a couple of weeks ago and liked it. Just wondered what other opinions were out there.

Well I hope it works out for you John - I like the look of it, certainly a better looking stick than the outrageously ugly TM Spider!

The Sabretooth putter has to rank amongst the most stupid designs ever.

Sorry but this gimmicky trait of ugly putters which started with the Two-ball is a bl**dy farce.

Anyone that uses such a weapon not only doubts their own ability at putting but also advertises the fact.

I would play anyone wielding such a stick at matchplay any day of the week

....... but don't expect any gimmees

Taz  my other putter is a Futura.  When it first came out I was able to pick up Sky sports and get some putting tips. but allas the reception is not as good as it used to be so I thought the Sabertooth would match my WOLF headcover.

I hope it has a positive effect on your putting, tried one on the practice green and quite enjoyed it but for some reason I struggle with mallet or large headed putters from close in so prefer a blade.

Taz if you ever get up to my course I will play you at matchplay and definitely no gimmees

Yer on John

My condemnation of the Futura on this site is legend

I started off hating the Two-Ball but the bloody thing became common as muck and not quite the ugly stick it once was. So then I picked on the Futura and every subsequent Tate gallery inspired putter head.

It is only my opinion

... but don't get me started on animal headcovers

Taz

I couldn't agree with you more about the bloody ugly putters taht people have. That is why I bought a Scotty circa 62.1. A beautiful putter and silky soft.

It is a damn shame I cannot align it properly and keep pulling the bloody thing.

So now my 2 ball is back out in daylight, and it is working lovely. But I must admit it is ugly as sin, which is why I call it Frank(enstein).

As for the Sabertooth, I have tried a friends and it was nice and typically Odysey, well built, smooth, soft, and bloody ugly. I didn't like the skinny grip and long 35" shaft but I expect if it was trimmed and wearing more rubber I might like it's ugliness. But for now I will stick with the 2ball/2thumb hybrid.
