Hi there,

When I last played golf, the shoes I had were worse than my funeral shoes for comfort. Surely with Nike and Adidas making a fair selection of them, they must be on par with the comfort of the trainers they make ?

Is this right ?

I won't be playing much in the wet apart from morning dew, probably max 36 holes a day and this could be day after day.

Who can advise me, Thanks

Depends what you want to spend and what style you want.

My Last two pairs have been Adidas Tour 360s and Footjoy AQL. The 360s are about £100 and the AQLs ae about £50.

The AQLs are VERY comfy and light. They are a bit more shoe like but very comfy. The 360s are more trainer like and are incredible. Probably mor comfy than most of my trainers. Just depends if you want to spend the money!

Ive tried a few of the Nike, Adidas, Footjoy and also Ecco shoes and they are all extremely comfy. Previously id had some £20 Hi-Tecs which gave me blisters just looking at them. I would say for £50 you could get some excellent shoes which will be perfect.

Footjoy shoes always come out well for comfort, even the £35 Greenjoys. I have found Adidas always very narrow, but they are supposed to be available in wider widths.

Always go to a shop to try, I would never advise to buy shoes over the internet, even JJB have a good range at reasonable prices.

If it's is a while since you have played you may have had metal spikes in the past, most shoes come with plastic cleats which you may or may not like (they probably are more comfortable though some argue the grip is not as good) but you can get metal spikes to fit all shoes - there are now 4 different fittings depending on make/model of shoe.
