Hi there, I'm planning to buy my Dad a practice net to use in the garden, and wanted to know if anyone can recommend one/some. I've searched the forum as best I could (couldn't work out how to search for multiple terms, which made things awkward) but the only brand/make mentioned by name seemed to be Izzo, which I found fairly easily: http://www.onlinegolf.co.uk/gadgets/pitching-and-driving-nets/386scog/3445pog.asp Just wondering if anyone has any other gems to recommend. Ideally I'm looking for something in the £30-60 range, that is easy enough for a single person to put up and pack away (needs to at least fold flat between uses, even if it doesn't pack down small). I'm wondering if one of the pop-up options might be worth considering, but am concerned that they all look a bit flimsy... Thanks in advance for any help, Jim

Hi Jim, I don't use a net myself, But if you take a look on a comparison site such as Pricerunner then look for golf, practice aids, practice nets quite a few come up.

Yes, I know there's plenty out there, but I'm after first-hand experiences, having read on some of the other threads that people have bought certain cheap ones and found that they're not up to the job.

Sorry missread your post - i thought you were having trouble finding them!

This one works its been in my garden the past year and works fine for swing practice, peanuts cheap now too. Might go buy another one for a spare!!!

Cheers, Jim that's very cheap - can I assume it stands up to full power shots, or do you just use it for chipping practise? Also, how easy is it to set up and take down? - You state that it's "been in [your] garden the past year" - but leaving it in situ is not an option for my father, so if it's difficult to take down and store, then that might rule it out. Thanks again, Jim

Anybody else got anything to suggest? I'd still very much like to hear from someone with a pop-up version about how they think these compare with the more solid varieties... Would appreciate any further info, thanks, Jim

I recently bought an Izzo pup-up and it's rubbish as after only one week it cant keep its shape!

Hi Jim Its pretty straight forward to put up and downbut its going to be a pain regardless whatever you get, Ive left mine set up, and just move it around when mowing the lawn, it maintains its shape well enough to do this, its construction is similar to a modern tent so if you want to put it up and down swiftly its possible whether you'll manage to put it back into its small bag is another story. Yes you can hit driver into it if you wish, I use it for anything I might need some practice with so that just about everything, I havent lost any balls though the neighbours windows yet, but here to hoping!
