I have been told I should get thicker grips on my irons and woods. Anyone got a easy way to test if my grips are too thin? Also what difference would it make ?

A mate of mine has a wicked hook normally.  we convinced him to have his driver fitted with a thicker grip  and it really did straighten out his hook.  He's now thinking of having all his irons from 7 downwards regripped as well.

Yip, are they comfortable or not? Do you have big hands...

Bigger grips will reduce the "roll" with your hands just before impact, so if you have a problem hooking the ball, this might help. But if you tend to fade your shots, those grips could turn that fade into a slice real quick (IMO the change is minimal). What I like about the bigger grips is that they lighten up the clubhead a little and my hands seem to be more relaxed.

If I were you get a larger sized grip installed on 1 of your clubs and try it out at the range or have a go with it on the course for a couple of rounds to see if you like it.

Yes grips are comfortable and yes I habve got big hands and my worse shot is a hook.

So I'll try one as suggested and see how it works. Thanks
