Stuburt DCC Shoes
Watch out for dodgy spikes

Bought some (rather flash) new shoes the other day - the Stuburt DCC ones, like Footjoy Classics, but a darned sight cheaper...

In between ordering them and receiving them I spoke to a Europro Tour player who had got some and he advised me that the spikes in the heel had a habit of spinning in the sole rather than releasing.

Also spoke to another retailer who advised me that they had sent their entire order back for the same reason.

If you have a apair of DCC shoes, check that you can release the spikes from the heel.  You will probably find that there will be one spike in each heel that does not unscrew.

I am in dialogue with the supplier I purchased from, who has contacted Stuburt and is in the process of trying to find out what to do when the "other 20 or so" pairs they have sold are returned for the same reason.

Just thought that people ought to know about this issue...

  But they do look good.

I was lucky enough to win a pair of the DCC shoes and took the time to break them in properly they are very comfortable and very smart (I have the all black leather and patent leather). My findings so far are that the spikes tend to loosen as you play I have lost two already and that the laces snapped on the third time of wearing. Since reading report by DuncAL I find that one of my spikes also just keeps turning so it certainly looks like a fault in the manufacture. Looks like I will Have to contact Stubert to get it sorted. If they get these problems sorted they will be a great alternative to Footjoy Classics. And I think they look better than classics.
