Hi Guys,

Anyone used the new GPS CaddyAid advertised on DGUK?

Would be interested to here your verdict.

Saw it at the golf show, not enough courses and having to tap a screen put me off and them saying it was used in last years open when it clearly wasnt makes you a bit suspitious of this , but it looks quite nice also they cant give you a guarentee of how accurate it is just my opinion for what its worth.

It was used by some player's caddies in practice rounds etc when they put their numbers and notes in their yardage books...they don't mean it was used in the actual competition.

It's been around a good couple of years. I looked into it a couple of years ago but never got s response to my e-mail. I've read elsewhere that people have had difficulty with customer service, getting new courses added etc, but I can't comment on how good a product it is.

Thanks for your replies.

I've had another look at GPSs and I've decided on either the "uplay upro" which will be out by the end of the month or the "Sonocaddie V300".

Look pretty good to me.

Virtually every course in the UK is listed with the Caddy Aid, does that mean they are telling porkies?

When you click through their site, it eventually says that many of the courses are unavailable.

I've just ordered the Sky Caddie, after just hearing they are being allowed in Alliance comps. I'm not really concered how wide the fairways are etc etc, but it will certainly  help me regarding how far I have to go with my shot to the green or maybe a lay up. The Upro is no where near ready for the UK yet, although it looks pretty good.
