Hitting a 2 Rescue.....tricky blighter

I have a 2 rescue that I bought when I was struggling with my woods. It provided a nice alternative to the woods and I was getting on with it pretty well. Useable off the tee and fairway/light rough etc. However, now I have got my woods working and can hit my driver/3 wood really well, but the 2 rescue has gone to pot.  So I was talking to a chap who is a good player about this, he reckoned that the 2 rescue is a bit of strange beast. It's a bit too long to swing like an iron, which is the best method for a rescue/hybrid and doesn't work well when swung like a wood. Anyone else have this issue, 3 and 4 hybrids being that bit shorter lend themselves well to an iron type swing, but the 2 appears to be sort of between an iron and wood swing.

Hi Roops

I've go the 16 degree Tm Rescue Dual, and find that when using it off the tee I have to be pretty precise about the tee height and ball position, following on from that using the same beast off the fairway and out of the rough also takes a larger degree of care if a good strike is to be gotten, so yes I'd agree its a little bit more of a beast to handle, well in my experience anyway.

That's exactly what I found. Tee height is critical to good strikes off the tee. I also found that you need a really controlled swing to get the best whereas with my woods you can adopt a little bit more of the grip it and rip it approach.

I have a 15*. I find a low, slow, smooth sweep works best.

I must admit though that they can be a shade tempramental. When behaving it's like a second driver but 2 months ago it was relegated for 2 weeks. Brought back out and seems to be behaving after it's punishment.

I changed from fairway woods to all rescues. I love my 1 iron replacement, a lot more accurate than my old 3 wood. Excellent from the tee or the fairway
