Also, which lofts (in degrees) equate to which irons.

I am a big fan, not because i can not hit my 3 and 4 irons, they are just more use.

For example you can not hit 3 out of medium rough etc, in good weather the ball flight is a lot higher than the 3/4 iron for the same distance and therefore stops a lot quicker on the greens and they a definitely more forgiving.

 I currently carry 3 hybrids:

15* Probably equivelent to a 4/ wood.

19* Probably equivelent to a 2 iron

 23* Probably equivelent to a 3/4 iron

Update - ordered Monday from Forgan - £19.99 plus £5 P & P - excellent.

Arrived just - unfortunately, with wrong shaft flex.

That said, based on 23rd Man's advice, I'd pre-considered it to be scrap anyway, so thought of reshafting it on arrival with the trusty S300.

What tip-size is the Forgan, and any special trimming requirements for it?

In things equipment, I bow to most others (not being an habitual tinkerer or swapper of gear), so your advice is much appreciated.

That said, fleabay is pretty bobbins for me (being left-handed), so if I buy anything at all, it's almost always brand new.

A vernier gauge is real handy for that, if you havent got one nip into a local Maplins or similar they retail them in there, and craftily measure the shaft spec. As a guess Id agree with 23rd man and say .370.

You can find trimming requirements on the True Temper web site, or again similar, I dont know for sure but I think it would be reasonable to think its pretty much a muchness regarding those measurements.

Update - used the blighter on Saturday in a medal round - not hit a ball with it before (not the brightest move).

Shaft is too wobbly for me, but the flight and distance is excellent - first swing was on our tight uphill 4th - laced it 250yds (lasered measurement back to tee from ball).

Flight is nicely higher than my long irons - only problem is, if I'm being honest, it goes too far (I intended it to be a long iron replacement, but it's noticeably longer than my 3 and 4i).
