I've got a set I got last week for £100! Can't saymuch about them yet as I haven't used them enough to give a fair review. I'll get back to you!

lol - I never even seen your post. Most of posted it while I was writing mine.

So far they've been great, just I haven't on occassions. The ball flight can be deceiving and sometimes doesn't go as far as you think. For example, I was hitting my second shot into the green on a par 4.  I pulled out an 8 iron and hit it great. It look like it was right ontop of the flag! Saddly not though, came down about 10 yards short of the green It's happened a few times now, but as I said, I've only had them 1 week so can't really comment on them yet.

There is the original version of the Tungsten ti irons and a new 2008 version. If the set you're looking at is cheap (under £200) then it's the old version, which is what I have been using for the last 10 months.

I tried a number of iron sets at the £300 and below mark, and got on with the MD ones better than all of them (only a Mizuno and Wilson Staff Fat Shaft set were on the same level).

The Tungsten ti's are excellent. I hit further than I used to and the ball just flies off the face when I catch it right (I can't blame the irons for mishits!).

My handicap has dropped by 5, which isn't entirely down to the clubs, but the irons have helped me make the most of any improvement.

The build quality and components are top notch too.

Is there anyway to tell which version one has, just by looking at them, Niblick?

Yes. If you look inside the cavity (back of the head), it will say Tungsten Ti.   If it's the new version (mk II) it will have a little 2 behind the Ti. If it's the older version it won't.

Unless you paid £240 or more, then you almost certainly have the older version - which is no bad thing. The new version has slightly larger heads and they've done some technical jiggery pokery but let's be honest, they aren't going to be that much better than the mkI.

The newer ones have Ti^2, on the back, as can be seen here (I hope)

My original ones just have Ti on them. I think they are great by the way. Got them for about 160 off an Ebay seller, SPS I think. I bought them without trying them first as they seem a bit hard to get hold of in certain areas, but I think I have made a great choice.

Even Boanerges likes them!
