One of my playing partners got custom fit for a new driver the other week and the one he plumped for was the Nike Sumo. He picked it up last wek and used it in anger for the first time last Monday.

I asked him if I could have a try and teed it up on the tenth tee for a "go with his new all singing all dancing stick"

The noise when he was teeing off was quite differnet to any other driver I have heard but when I used it I made good contact with the ball but on impact I sh*t myself cos I thought I'd broken it the noise was awful and really off putting. I'm only glad I hadn't paid what he did for it cos that feeling and noise using it for the first time would have reduced me to tears thinking it was bust

I've got the old version and it does make an abysmal noise when you whack it! However it does really work for me, so I suppose I'll have to put up with it!

One of the blokes in my group was teeing up with his Nike Sumo Squard (the old model) when he heard muffled laughter behind him.  He turned round to find all his playing partners had put earplugs in!

There used to be a web-site where you could hear the sound of various drivers but I can't remember where it was.  

The S5900 sounds like sh!t but works though. I think it sounds a lot worse as a spectator than a user.

This is a bonus in my opinion because I'd want to annoy the sh!t out of my playing partners just for the hell of it!
