Review of Sabertooth putter

They have a good deal on at my local pro shop at the moment with trading in your old putter or like me putters in against a newer model.

I have in the bag at the moment a Yes Abbie putter but was in the market for something different, probably a face balanced putter.

Tried many options on the practice green and thought I would take the Sabertooth out just to say at least I gave it a go.

I have to say at address I didn't really notice the Sabertooth fangs around the outside, it really surprised me how "un fussy" it actually looked behind the ball. It is a very stable putter that just wants to rock back and thru. Distance control was spot on from the word go and alignment seemed better than usual for me.

My problem has been missing my fair share of short putts so wanted to try to focus most of my attention testing putters at close range against my usual model.

The sabertooth was deadly from close range and just as good with medium and long putts.

This putter was starting to impress me!.

The feel is extremley soft from the insert but you can tell when you don't quite get it bang on in the middle. Slight miss hits end up being close to the hole as this is one forgiving putter. All in all I was sold on this putter, I am glad I managed to get past its strange look and give it a go, got the pro to cut it down to my usual 32" and traded a couple of older putters and ended up walking away with a new putter and feeling pretty happy about it as well.

I did a search on here for the putter and found a few threads and a lot of people dismissing it because of its looks but if you see it in a shop and have a chance hit it.

plus if your losing a game you can stab your partner with it

As a beginner, I didnt have a clue what to look for in buying a putter. After trying out almost every brand at my local pro shop, I knew that it was the feel and sound of Odyssey that I would be buying.

I tried all the odyssey putters over and over again, over about a week. It was either the 2 ball or the sabretooth.

I bought the sabretooth because I like its unusual design, something a little different.

It gives me straight shots even when my stroke is all over the place, and I got the weight of it immediately.

The odyssey grip is fantastic.

I dont think of it as a sabretooth, I call it my batman putter.
