Having just purchased a nice, rusty Vokey wedge yesterday for £20 to complete my wedge set, I'm not sure how much or how little I should do to restore it a bit.

1. The grip is old and should probably be replaced. Is it easy enough to do this yourself? I have no aptitude whatsoever for DIY so when I say easy it must be easy! How much would a pro charge (roughly) for doing this?

2. Do people sharpen up the grooves when buying 2nd hand wedges? If so, how?

3. Most importantly, should I be leaving it outside to rust, or in a bucket of water, or should I wash it, or should i just leave it alone?

regripping by your local pro shouldn't be a lot.

I just wash mine and clean the grooves then spray it with WD-40 if it is likely to be used in the rain.

Don't know about groove sharpening though

My pro used to charge £7 each to regrip a club, considering I can buy a Golf Pride grip for £2.50, £7 is a bit steep which is why I do it myself now, see other threads on here about re-gripping.

If its rusty dont use WD40.

£7 is a sound price really as the "Pro" is just that, a profesional, which is why he charges for his services to make a living.

This tool will sharpen up your vokey grooves nicely!

iv got a vokey spin milled and this tool sharpened it up great.

Thats why im selling them now!
