Hi fellas, think its time i got myself some decent waterproof gear especially with the summers we have now... Played last week and it rained for the full round, had leggings on as i dont enjoy playing with to many layers on but after 2 holes took leggings off as i was getting wetter with sweat as it was warm.So after some ideas of which waterproof suit to get that is breathable and mid price range....
cheers

Before the cries of "Galvin Green" hit this, have a look at ProQuip. Light, quiet, comfortable and seem to pick up lots of plaudits in the magazines.

Galvin Green stuff is vastly overpriced and overrated. I agree with Robster, ProQuip is every bit as good. Mates I play with also give the thumbs up to Sunderland.

Just picked up footjoy bottoms and jacket at local pro shop for £100. Tested at the weekend and very pleased, not wet underneath at all and it isn't heavy or loud when you swing! I went for long sleeve but they do short sleeve aswell.

i'm looking to get a cross waterprrof suit for the winter. They come very highly recommended, great fit and i've got a Cross ski jacket which is fantastic. £120 for the suit or can pay galvin green prices if you wish to purchase jacket and trousers separately. Played at the weekend in the rain with no waterproof trousers, really need them. My cheap ashworth short sleeve wind stopper held up suprisingly well though! luckily it wasn't too cold.

_of_18th_n_berwick.JPG) I had a really good Proquip suit, but after a while....leaked.
Then I bit the bullet and bought GG. (sorry, you knew it was coming!)
Bit like the guy in the new Mondeo, telling himself it is as good at a 5 series/Merc/Audi! Say it all you like, you know the answer!

Scazzer can recommend the pro quip silk touch, they can picked up for around £100 quid now from £200 as i think there new range is out. A bargain really They are very light, very soft dont make a horrible noise when you walk and swing and of course waterproof also come with a 3 year warranty. Choice of jacket or pull over top, the pull over has removable arms as well. Can not really go wrong with these at this price!

I got some Tog24 waterproof bottoms at the retail outlet a few weeks ago. £29 down from £80. If you've got a tog24 outlet near you, go and have a look. I also find my Gill mountain biking jacket more than adequate for playing golf in and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than similar golf "marketed" products. It's designed to be non-bulky around the front - similar to a golf jacket - but is a lot tougher and nicer cut than a lot of stuff out there. A waterproof suit doesn't need to be marketed towards golfers to be any good on a golf course.

I've Got a ProQuip silk touch suit and a Sunderland of scotland players Suit and there's bugger all difference in Quality or performance! Both on the £130 price range! I have also have a Bay Hill Whispa tech suit (Arnie palmers brand) and bought this for £75 in Nevada Bobs. All three suits are Great! I play all year round which is why I have Three wet suits and rotate their use!
