I am at the moment trying to find some woods that were made approximately 10 years ago.

I know from speaking to various golfers, they have spare sets of golf clubs in their garage gathering dust. 

Occasionnally golfers throw out their old clubs, but I don't think that is the norm, we generally tend to hoard them, thinking they might come in handy in the future !!! 

One might even say that with the technological advances in golf clubs, the old clubs would be redundant . But I am a great believer that playing a good round of golf is principally down to the golfer and his swing, not the clubs he uses, although of course we all tend to feel confident with certain clubs.

 Therefore does anyone know of a central site, where people can put their old clubs up for sale, albeit for a relatively nominal sum, and also where people list any old clubs they require. 

If not does anybody think there is merit in starting such a site  ???

Golfbidder.com has older clubs on it's books normally.

Iron finder in the US has old stuff as well but ONLY irons and normally singles.

yeah, I'd have said Ebay would be your first port of call.

OUt here there is a shop 50 clicks from me that has rack after rack of old clubs. some REALLY old. My Ping Eye Twos came from here. He's got something for everyone. all brands, singles and sets, blades and CBs steel and graphite shafts. You name it.

 Woods selection is a bit thinner but there is everything from persimon woods thought to new Nike Sumo.

No. as I mentioned I have a Dunlop 7 wood, I don't know why but there is something about the head shape whereby I can hit this club straight and long, although it is 24 degrees, I can hit it about 190 yards (when I'm hitting well) even though its trajectory is quite high.

My logic is that I have confidence with this wood, and therefore if I can use the same type of wood  but with  less degree of loft then I will get greater distance but with the same accuracy.

You may be right in saying there are better performing low price woods currently available,  but presumably to try them you would have to buy them ?

Subsequent to buying my Dunlop woods I have brought more recent woods but I just don't hit them so well.

It may be all physcological with these woods, but unfortunately isn't golf all about physcology and confidence ???
