Hi all, need your advice on this one.

I have been playing for a while now with a King Cobra 454 comp 10.5, R-flex, mitsubishi rayon SL-45 shaft.

 I can hit sometimes nice long straight drives, provided my swing is nice and easy.

In general I hit wayward shots with this driver.

I tried a Titleist 983 K today, 8.5, s-flex with speeder fujikara shaft.

All my drives were straight, longer but a litle bit low. I had my best round ever today since last year.

 Could you advise which kind of shaft I could fit on my cobra driver.

Got the 9* stiff version of 454 comp and it's as good as anything i've tried. Looking for a pull of a lower flight shaft to see if it can help me a little playing into the wind - It's only real downfall for me.

It is a good head no mistake!

Cobra do have a habit of using ultra-light shafts like that SL-45. If you have strong and/or fast swing, then you are likely overpowering that reg flex, ultra-light (45g !) SL-45. Not to mention that the SL-45 is high torque (low resistance to club-head twisting).

If you think that it was the heavier Speeder which gave you the benefit, then you need to check which Speeder model (they come in different weights). Then find something of a similar spec'.

Alternatively the older Titty is pretty cheap now - you could likely pick one up for the same price as a decent shaft, and then sell the Cobra.

Personally I'd stick with the Cobra 'cos they are great heads, and it does sound like a shaft problem, but that's just MHO.
