Read the customers comments on the AGD site. Looks like a good idea, but they have used cheap materials to build the thing.

I have a smat cart and bought it from Direct Golf at a cheaper price. Same packaging same name different manufacturer.

The smart cart is at best adequate, the only slim advantage it has is the fold up size. The unfold is not intuitive, it falls over on anything less than level ground without a bag on it. Awkward when you stand it up reach for the bag then have to reach over to pick the cart back up. I lean mine against the club house wall. The top supporting bar for me comes too far around the bag (I have a bag with a separate putter attachment which gets blocked by this so I have to set the bag off centre. The locking mechanism to hold the handle in place is suspect and would I suspect be the first thing to replace.

All that aside the cart is not that bad and its major downfall is the narrow wheelbase. This makes the cart unstable on anything slightly uneven. I have to be very careful crossing cart paths etc, also a vigorous stride down a lumy fairway may put the balance in jeopardy.

I am in no particular rush to replace the cart until something breaks, but if you have to have a pull cart you would be better served buying a £20 hippo cart in traditional style than the money spent on the Smart Cart.

I did some fairly extensive research into this, owing to my miniscule boot.

I liked the fact that it folded up so small, but when I actually went to see it at AGD, I found it flimsy and unbalanced and walked away without it. The handle also felt like it was about to fly off.

If you are still interested, you should know that there are two models, the smart cart, and the smart cart 2. The v2 has a better scorecard and ball holder near the handle.

I eventually decided on either a Powakaddy Micra 6000, or a Twinpac 3. The latter of which I bought and am very happy with, if it wasn't for the lax attitude of Powakaddy customer services when I first enquired about it... but that's another story.
