Anyone know where I can buy long (2 3/4 ") plastic tees? Sick of the wooden ones breaking. I know they exist as I found one on the course last weekend but can't find any online or in any shops. Thanks.

You can get these on Ebay. They are orange and will save you a lot of money in the long run.

There are now silver castle tees....and these are longer than the white ones and look about 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" in length!!
Available in all good golf stores...and some rubbish ones too!!!

Got a pack of long silver tower tees from Little Hay in Herts, haven't tried them yet as my driver has been misbehaving recently. Think I've sorted it out and will take the big dog out for a run this week.

I know it's stupid, but i'd rather buy the wooden tees and they break. I hate plastic tees. To ptip - buy some shinkfit electrical insulation - that you shrink with a hairdryer - cut it to length and put over tee and shrink it. Hey presto no more broken tees

Thanks all - ordered some from ebay.

I think the silver castle tees are made of wood, is this right?
Yes the silver tees I got are wood. Marketed by the Masters Golf co. and made in the UK, though Little Hay is the only place I've seen them. I find wooden tees work better for me but its probably all in what passes for my mind. The 'cup' on the wooden tees is much shallower than on the plastic, so perhaps this makes a difference.

Greenkeepers will thankyou for using biogradable tees and plastic ain't.
would recommend the long version "Lift Tees" - they are plastic and are virtually unbreakable.

 Gil,
The long orange tees are so big they are very hard to lose !!

I read a great tip a while ago (I think it was on here somewhere). When using long wooden tees, once you have stuck the tee in ther ground give it a little wiggle back and forth. This should stop it breaking as you hit the ball.
Works for me.

Tut tut, plastic tees. Thankfully, there not so widespread now. Greenkeepers don't like them because they blunt the mowers' blades.
Not if you pick them up after you've driven off !!
Exactly - I always pick up my tee so have no problem using plastic - truth be told I'll pick up any plastic tees I find in an effort to aid the green keeper (and save myself a few pence as I'm "frugal"). Latest Today's Golfer has a number of options for obtaining long plastic tees but am waiting for my delivery from ebay.

Mine arrived very quickly Paul so shouldn't be a problem. Years ago it was always a bit of a find if you came across a tee. Now it seems people are too lazy and too well off! I always pick them up too and never have to buy any !!
 Short ones that is.

I found a "Lift It" tee back in June and managed to use the same tee for 6 weeks and approximately 20 rounds of golf. I have subsequently bought some from www.Directgolf.co.uk at £2.79 for 8. They're funny looking (have a white rubber crown on top, and a brightly covered stem), but are extremely durable.
Worth a look...

Does anyone know if the lift tees mentioned above are conforming under the new rules I saw them advertised and was considering giving them a go
It says on the packaging that they conform.
