 Having just had to use three leather gloves whilst playing 14 holes of matchplay, can anyone recommend a good all weather glove which actually works in the typical English winter.

 I was very sceptical of the wet weather gloves, but that was before i got them. I got the Mac-Wet gloves from Direct golf 2 pairs for £12 i think. There amazing, it had been raining for a while before i tried them, what a difference from just an all weather glove, because they come as a pair both of your hands are glued to the club. Some people say that they have to be fully wet before they work, but i have worn them dry and thought they gripped ok.I used to hate playing in the rain, but now it's bareable, a must have for any golfer. I can only comment on the macwets as i have never tried any of the other makes out there, but the macwets are excellent.

 If you find wet weather gloves dont work dont look the gloves look at the grips on your clubs. For example the grips used on Taylor made 500 series are atrocious in the wet and similarly the plain tour wrap grips are pretty bad in the wet.

Also Jim i've got TM irons, driver (580XD) and 580 3-wood. So thanks for the info on the grips. Might have to change to cord grips for the winter if the gloves don't work.

I've got a TM XR-O5 Driver with a standard TM grip and the macwets don't slip an inch, but i do agree that they are terrible in the wet with standard golf gloves.

 I have the Minell zero slip gloves and find them excellent and have total confidence in the grip they provide. There is a downside, the gloves are quite thick so the feedback on feel shots is limited.

 The Original Roo from Bigger Al on this site,sticks like glue when wet as due to it's thinner construction it's easy to vent and squeeze any absorbed water,it's so good that you have trouble in getting them off and you still have excellent feel of a very wet club.If your playing the next day as I did on the wet weekend,theyr'e perfectly dry for tomorrow when youv'e had a soaking.
Best investment for ages and any advantage,eh?.

To update you all, have just received my macwets from Direct Golf. Thought I'd try them at home first so I saturated them under the tap and put my TM580XD driver grip ( apparently useless grip in the wet)under the tap and tried them in the garden. The gloves were superb stuck better then me Leather glove does in the middle of the summer. Great gloves.

I used to wear gloves out in no time.
Golf shop recommended I use kasko , cheap enough and seem to work.

They work well when dry too Steve so not necessary to wet them first.

 Anyone in doubt, the Footjoy rain grip glove is the best by a mile, and gets better grip as it gets wetter as my round proved today.

I always wear rain grips - wet or dry. I had this recommended to me by my brother in law's who's a pro and he was definately right. They probably only last me about 5 rounds each, which is over £1 per round, but I guess I probably spend more on balls than that on average :-) But I've won more than my fair share when it does rain. Also, the cord grips that came as standard on my Titleist irons seem to weork well in the wet.
