between cart bags and tour bags?

I'm looking to buy a bag to fit on an electric trolley that I will be buying in the new year but don't want to buy the wrong kind of bag.

Help please.

Paul, I am not 100% sure myself but I think that a tour bag is the type of design that the pros use, so is very large and really meant for carrying by a caddy. A cart bag is interesting as I think the term comes from the US where a cart bag means a bag that you use when you ride in a buggy. I don't think that it necessarily means that it will be ok on a trolley. At least this is how I interpreted the manufacturers web sites that I browsed. I was going to buy a good looking Burton bag from online golf and couldn't decide if it would fit on a trolley. By the time I had decided it was sold out! So, I went to my favourite range where I have lessons and I bought a Wilson Alpine Cart bag and used it for the first time today. It fit perfectly on a trolley. I am actually glad I didn't buy online as I could poke round the pockets etc. Apparently, most bags are made in the same three factories anyway. I am not sure this helps you much but good luck...

Using my credit from the pro shop (from Two's competitions and sweeps) I paid just £50 for an Atlantic (@tlantic) bag. it has 11 pockets for all manner of stuff, including a couple of cloth-lined ones for valuables. Sits nicely on my electric trolley and only thing missing is a big fat manufacturers logo. But in my position I have to remain neutral, so that's a bonus! ED

Iv,e always used a Mizuno W11 stand bag which was fine but tended to swivel and the clubs can stick on the handles when your trying to pull a club out,So just got the bona fide Mizuno cart bag for christmas £59 on e bay{bargain} as a treat.
Make sure of a well padded top ring and plenty of room to get your clubs out ,ie,each has its own compartment ring, don't go for the pro bags, theyre huge and bloody heavy and proper golfers will stare.

Thanks chaps.

Have a splendid non-culturally or deistically specific holiday, and I will see you in 2005 at one of the next GM golf days.

Cart bags are designed so that all the pockets are accessible when the bag is on a cart but remember on a cart the bags stand upright so look for one for a trolley where the bag is at an angle an there is nothing to impede it leaning against the trolley

the pga golf store have powakaddy cart bag lites for £39.98 delivered, available in all the colours, and they will definately fit on your new trolley.
What sort of trolley are you looking at buying "sorry" i'm just being nosey as i'm looking to buy one shortly aswell but can't decide whether to get a cheap one off e-bay or go the hole hog and get a powakaddy.
