Just got myself a Sonartec MD Transition hybrid after your glowing recommendation. Picked it up from a guy in the Sates for £70 including shipping and it should be here 4-6 days.

_of_18th_n_berwick.JPG) So, was that your wife shouting down the phone just now!
I saw that Tony Valentine in Corsham Wiltshire is now stocking them... still £160-£170 so, if that's a kosher deal you've got, it's a winner!
Which loft did you go for? Not to greedy I hope!

23* which will replace my 4i and only 5* above my 5 wood, did the same as you - bought without trying. Oops!
_of_18th_n_berwick.JPG) I got the 21 degree which for some reason (stiffer shaft?) I hit lower than my 5 wood... great into the wind on par fives!
That's an excellent deal. The only place I could find to try them out was Nevada Bobs at Broadgate in the city. They have them for £149. I now have the 19 degree version to replace my 2 & 3 iron. I am very pleased with the performance of the club, it's very easy to hit and produces a nice flat trajectory which is exactly what I am looking for.
Still got to pay VAT and import but that should only be about £15 so still a good deal, apparently it's only been hit about 15 times so hopefully it should be pretty good.
Watch out for the extra charge parcelforce will probably slap on also. Probably another £25 on top so you will be looking at about £110 in total.
Unless it's UPS which is £3.

Club just turned up at the house and is in like new condition. Even better is that Parcel Farce have not asked for any duty, VAT or handling charge. Result! Also got a partial refund from the seller as the shipping was not as much as he expected so it has cost me £67.46.

Hacker...I thought the same, give it a week or two and the invoice will surely turn up.
Apologies for raining on your parade.
_of_18th_n_berwick.JPG) Sounds like a result!

 Good spot Hacker!

 Thanks Paul. :-(
Just got back from the range and all I can say is WOW! Very nice weight to the club and a lower flight than I was expecting, but it is long and lands gently. I can see now why people rave about them, a very under-rated club. I presume it is the shaft that makes the difference and the Irod seems to have a slightly stiffer tip which obviously fits in well with my swing/game.
I've been using the Hogan utility/rescue and prior to that the TM Mid but this blows both of them out of the water.

_of_18th_n_berwick.JPG) ...told you so!

I've been so impressed by the MD Transition that I am seriously thinking of replacing my Tileist 980F 3 wood with an equivalent sonartec model. Have requested some info from GF distribution - who are the main distributors in the UK. Interestingly the guy there said they have just upgraded their shafts to Fujikura for the UK market.
I'm also thinking of swapping out my 5w for the MD in 19*. On our range the landing area is slightly uphill so you can see exactly where the ball lands and the 23* was only about 5/10 yards shorter than the 5w (sometimes the same length) but with a much tighter dispersion. Off centre hits were also very forgiving.
CG, AGD are stocking them at present if you want to try before you buy.
AGD are stocking Sonartech? Wouldn't mind giving them a try myself. Looking for a 5W alternative..
 I have a 21*. irod S shaft. headcover. 30 hits.
Anyone interested?
Borrowed a 15degree stiff and can only say......WOW!!!
Straight/long and very crisp off the face, a quality club all round!! I will be getting one just looking for a bargain!!
I blame Ian as well for my MD purchase...:) superb clubs... I have a 19 and like the solid shape of the head at address. ..Think much of the bens of this club is that the Irod shafts are perfectly matched. As you say, keeps the ball low and stable without too much spin and its suprisingly easy to hit out from heavy rough.
