but I thought with graphite, the flexes don't mean that much (I've heard that graf blue in reg is like stiff from a different manufacturer)?

So is a graf blue stiff likely to play much different to a graf prolite stiff? I hit the driver (983K) high-ish and bad shot is a high cut (but only with driver, 3 wood (980F) is a high draw, but that's a speeder stiff).

Most stock club flexes dont jb
In the Graf range the blue is by far the strongest and will play stiffer than a corresponding prolite prolaunch and nt
You also have to look at loft combos too, it is much better to use more loft and a stonger shaft to punch it out than the other way around

Well its plays stiffer than the Stock Reg Cleveland Shaft.. by Fujikura But i Wouldnt say it plays like a Stiff Shaft IMO..

Tried a TM stiff once couldnt hit the Ball to save my Life..

I guess I need to find somewhere I can actually try them, not that I know anywhere down here in Kent.

Nice to read the reports and comments - I personally am opting for the ProLaunch 45. I am a snr player but quite strong, strike speed around 86 mph (yes I know some of you young guns are in the 100`s) but I compete very well with my younger members. Presently I have the ProLogic 95g R.Flex on my Nemesis Driver,(14 degrees) fly it around 200 yards, looking for a lighter shaft and hopefully a little more club head speed and distance. Hence the 45. I stick with clubmakers rather than the pro who is selling OEM stock. Although I do see now that some of the manufacturers are opting for the better shafts, (as a paid option) (and charging extra for custom fit irons ??) rather than sticking a cheap standard shaft on the head.

which is better, the GrafBlue or the Aldila NV65?

i have the aldila in my ben hogan 7 wood and it is fantastic, but have never tried the grafalloy, but i know that both are very good.

I don't think one is better or worse. Both the Graf Blue and Aldila NV are premium high quality shafts played extensively on Tour. It is more an issue of what suits you in terms of feel, trajectory and flex. The NV is sometimes said to feel a bit more lively, compared to the "boardy" feel of Blue, but that is a matter of preference.

I have a Ping G2 (10 degree's) with the Grafalloy Pro Launch R flex and am thinking of going for a new driver with a shaft that has a lower trajectory than my current club. Ping G2 for sale if someone wants..!!!

Am using Martin as my consultant in his capacity as resident shaft expert...

Why not re shaft the ping ? with either standard or tour blue or a prolite 35

EXMAX has made an excellent suggestion there, everyone will want your G2 for peanuts especially the pro shop. If you think of re-shafting try SMT Golf @ Midas Golf in Huddersfield. They advertise on this page (01484 864888) Shaun there is an encylopedia of knowledge and advice. You will get a GOOD price for your new shaft and grip. Why lower trajectory ? every one is looking for loft and carry. (Rainbow effect) rather that soaring low and up. This has been proven to give more distance.
You might consider the flex on your new shaft. Your club head speed "might" justify a stronger or weaker flex

Hi Shaun @ EMAX

Pleasant surprise to find out you are one and the same, I will keep an eye open in future. Always knew you were a good looking bloke. I must get some browny points now ??

HA HA i will make sure i dont reshaft your driver upside down lol

EXMAX

Cheers for that. It is a consideration but might just be easier to sell or part ex the Ping and get a new driver with the shaft I want.

Need to try a few out first.

Like the look of the TP Taylormades - R5/7 and R510 etc.

I reshafted an Adams 400cc. Maybe drilled through the plug. Not sure. But the head now feels lighter. Need I add lead or tungsten powder and then replug? Also have a wee rattle now. So should I add powder and rat glue and a new plug, and if so, where might I find such things? Thanks. bob

Might be best to start a new thread. This one is over a year old.
