It's not what you've got, it's what you do with it.

You're all marketing mens dreams.

Who cares ? LOL I enjoy the buying and trying as much as the actual playing.

A bit like my women then really ;)

I've nothing to be ashamed of. I have never bought a club on the basis of an advert or a marketing campaign. I am immune to their "charms". Doesn't stop me buying and trying, but I do my own research and seek the opinions of real people.

And sometimes the search for something can be as much fun as the buy and try itself!

LGL, how did you get on with those, was it Titleist, woods you were trying to source an outlet for. TIC!

Golfbhoy, I'm flogging my Callaway V Forged+ vintage finished wedges, 48,52,56 & 60 degrees, only a few weeks old and are still in good condition. They are the kind that are designed to rust and they are just starting to nicely. I'm too used to heavy offset cavities and don't get on with them at all.I'm looking for £65 per club but would discount for a multiple purchase. I've also got a 54 degree the same but it's in poor condition which I bought 2nd hand.

Never found any Kev. Went into AGD last week to ask if they carried them and was told by the GUY - "we don't stock ladies titleists because they are very hard to hit". Guess who left immediately and won't be going there again!

what is it you're after lgl?

New fairway woods. Mine are really beaten up. I'd like to try out Titleist and Cleveland but can't seem to find stockists of ladies clubs.

Imagine being a Lefty female..... Sheeesh....that would be a nightmare ;)

If you drop Cleveland golf an Email im sure someone will point you in the right Direction..

Paul.

lgl, demo them with the stock R shaft to get a feel for the heads. If you like them try to pick them up 2nd hand and swap the shafts? If they don't work out for you I'm sure you can sell them on for close to what they'll cost you, as you've already found they're a scarce commodity. Try golfbidder for the Titleist 975, apparently there's not a lot of difference between those and the 980 in performance terms.

Oops I just thought of something. Titleist driver heads are borethrough, better check the FW's aren't the same - they aren't as easy to "tinker" wth.

Kev, good deal but not my taste, sorry. I'm leaning towards matching my 52° Cleveland 900 (taken direct from the Crow Wood pro's bag for £50!), a 56° to start with then maybe a 48°. Hard to find, but as I said earlier, the hunt is all part of the fun.

The 980F and 975F are completely different. The 975F is harder to hit and, according to some of the US websites, was a bit of a c*ck up by titleist.

980F on the other hand is a great club (I use the 15 deg strong and it's a top club)

JB, I'd appreciate any links to those reviews, since they disagree with the ones I've seen to date. I was thinking about a 975 5W, a few more reviews would be useful!

I'm not sure I'd describe anything which generated the sales revenue, and pro usage (well OK, they don't buy them), as a c*ck-up.

Paul,
Do you have an address where I can buy the Dunlop Revelation Distance balls from.I`ve tried all of my local clubs and retail outlets but no-one seems to be able to help me.

Since I started up playing last March after a 8 years break:

5 drivers - still have 2

8 fairway woods - still have two

3 rescue clubs - still have two

2 sets of irons - still got one

8 wedges - still got 4

3 putters - still got 1

All of which is premium kit.

Wife doesn't know about changing my CG10 56 deg 2 dot wedge for a 1 dot or the new Nike SQ 3 wood! I am suprised she hasn't said anything about the latter as she plays golf and hasn't seemed to notice the bright yellow Nike headcover rather than the blue G5 headcover!!!

It never ends mate. It's like being a crack addict!

I thought I had everything, but now Im looking into a backup set of irons - maybe Eye 2 when Im not striking me blades so good!!!

LGL - take a sqwizz at my 3 wood when we next catch up. IMO (and I have used Titleist faiways before) the Sonartec looks great and performs pretty darned good too...

I don't consider myself an equipment freak, but...

I have got
2 SMT Spare drivers
1 Titleist Spare driver
1 Titleist Spare 3 wood
1 TM 200 Spare 4 wood
...
7 spare wedges (assorted brands and lofts)
1 spare putter

oops perhaps I am a closet kit freak... :-)
