I am just taking up golf, I can hit the ball OK and am not too bad as I have borrowed a friends old clubs to use. I have only had a couple of rounds but have been pitch and putting quite a few times in the past. Anyway to the real question, I have been looking round for a well priced set of decent clubs. My friend has given me a Taylor Made driver so need everything else. I have seen a site where I can get a set of RAM oversize 11 clubs, 1,3,5, woods, 3-SW and putter and bag for £99. Woods - graphite shafts, Irons - steel shafts with titaniun matrix cavity back. Does anyone know if these would be any good or have any recommendations? Thanks.

Sound good!

I started with a Cougar starter set from AGD, and have just upgraded to custom fit Nike NDS, which are VERY forgiving. Depends how much you want to spend, and how much you want to play.

Titanium Matrix clubs that I have played with are very suitable for a beginner because the material is so light they can have big heads. However the metal is very soft and the clubs do mark very easily.
The Donnay sets are very similar and can be found in American Sports and Soccer or Lilywhites and the Regal Classic sets are similar sold in Tescos.

You could buy a good quality second hand set set which may last you longer just look in the classifieds on here for example.
