Oops, you're correct, G; the top half is dual folding. And that's enough for me to abandon the DIY attempt, since I'm not sure I wouldn't have to fart about with the electrics and cabling. It's possible the parts won't match anyway, since I know from other F&S users at my club, whose trolleys don't match mine even though they come from the same manufacturer.

Thanks for your help, but blacksmith it is. Now ... where's that Yellow Pages gone? Ah, here's an online version.

Are these things any good? There seems to be a lot of wildly conflicting reviews/opinions. Are they only available on-line, or can you drive to the factory and pick one up?

They're OK. I've had mine 2 years now and it's served me well. The fault I am currently experiencing is self-inflicted - I didn't realise the rubber stopper served any purpose other then keeping dirt out of the frame. I knew it was missing but I didn't replace it.

Can't help with your "pick 'em up" question; they were too far away from me to even consider that possibility.

Robster, I'm in Northern Ireland. Like I say, one battery is brand new, never been charged, the other is my original. No idea what postage would cost for them to be honest. I have one guy local to me, considering the batteries, but am waiting for him to get back to me at the moment.

the serrated edge on the nylon (plastic) drive wheel have broken off. Where can I get a replacement. (it's standard to all these types of trollies.)
