The Motocaddy S3 folds down very small and fits into the tiny boot of my "little sports car". The wheels come off in 20 seconds and I fit the full size S3 bag, S3 trolley, wheels, battery plus my shoe bag and tog bag.

I bought Mocad2 for my wife. Basic trolley seems good but collapsing and erecting need to much strength. Regularly used on flat parkland course. Original battery ran out of puff at 15 holes after 3 months. Pazion replaced under warranty. Main axle broke at cotter pin hole beside gearbox at 9 months. Pazion said must have been overloaded (more than 14 clubs ? Tut Tut)but repaired via Comet under Warranty. Axle broke again at same point - now out of Warranty - new axle cost £17 and easy to fit. Now battery in trouble again and cuts out at 15 holes. This trolley is now mine and my wife has a HillBilly. Nuf said?

Bought a Mocad 18 months ago from Comet. It was great for a bit until the battery gave up, then the speed switch. Bought a brolly holder that turned out to be flimsy and had to modify it with a screw and evo-stick stop it waggling. Bought seat I have never used too. Now the main control box has packed in. Bought a new control for £20 and that doesn't work either. The wiring was impossible to plug and unplug so I had to use soldering irons etc. The motor works but it's uncontrollable. Cannot be bothered to get another controller and spend another day fighting with it. Will go back to HillBilly. Good kit with good after sales. Anyone want a Mocad seat, brolly holder and other bits of Mocad for spares?

Some of the reviews report that they collapse easily, they certainly do ! I've had 3 collapse in 3 years generally the tubing at the top of the motor housing cracks, the owner is difficult to track down and the company doesn@t reply to your emails, avoid at all costs !

I purchased a Mocad from Comet in March which had operated very successfully until last week. I noticed it did not appear to pull quite as well as previously for two rounds then at the end of the third round failed completely. I disconnected the battery and got the trolley back to my car. Packed it in its box for return to Comet They accepted it for return and by the time I got home Mocad had phoned to suggest replacement clutches which are fitted in the wheel but replaceable. Mocad also offered a replacement battery which I accepted. The parts arrived promptly and were easily replaced and the trolley is now back in service. I examined the old clutches one of which was immovable, the other also stiff. This suggest to me that wheels which cannot move freely will burn out motors and run down batteries very quickly and may be the reason for battery failures reported in other letters. I will be testing each wheel carefully to ensure free operation from now on. Has anyone had trouble with clutches?

I have had my Mocad since May 2006. These must be the one of the worst trolleys there is on the market. Now on my third switch, the latest of which is a completely new on/off design incorporated with the handle,  costing  £25 and the battery has started to fail after 12 holes. I have spoken with the sales at Mocad who claim there are few complainants amongst there customers. However everyone whom I have spoken with who has a Mocad has had a problem. Avoid purhasing at all costs. Go Powakaddy or Hill Billy, you won't regret it!

I have had the same 'dying battery' problem as many others, had the trolley aprox. 15 months. Contacted mocad and got no joy whatsoever. Can anyone recommend a good replacement battery?

You can get replacement batteries for the Mocad trolley from golftrolleybatteries.co.uk as well as chargers. I bought one and the service was excellent

I was a fan of MOCAD, mine lasted 2 years with no problems, but then, for no apparent reason it just stopped.

I rang the MOCAD Helpdesk, they tried to help but just suggested basics like is the battery OK. The box of tricks got very hot, I suspect it was a fault inside it.

The trolley hit the local tip, and I bought a Greenhill, which I am very happy with.

The Mocad is really a very poor piece of equipment. We've had on going switch problems and now like many others we have the cut out problem which can be solved by unplugging the battery counting to 3 then reconnecting! Of course it happens again after 5/10 minutes. Service from Pazion? Ha! Offered advice is always 'get a new battery' or send of to them at my cost. Cutting my losses and off to the metal skip now.

I have owned a Mocad for about 2 years and have just replaced the switch for the 2nd time (£10.00) . Also suffers from the cut out problem after about 16 holes.Unplugging the battery for a few seconds will get it going again. It is now becoming nuisance as will somtimes happen again before end of round. Battery seems to be ok with life left in it. What is the cause ?

In the 17 months I have owned my Mocad, both the battery and the switch needed replacing under warranty. The switch has now gone again (lasting only 8 months) and I find it amazing that something as simple as a switch should be so unreliable.

I have now got the old Hillbilly (pre Mocad used for 8 years) out of mothballs, put new clutches and a battery into it and it goes fine. I have more faith in the 8 year old Hillbilly than the 18 month Mocad.

Do not buy this product.

paul a 62 - the problem is the control switch not the battery.  I had exactly the same problem (unplug and replug the battery to get it going again).  A new control switch fixed it

I have had my mocad for 2-3 years an i too have experienced all the probs that everyone has had on this forum.Spent a fortune on spare parts etc.. an now the battery has gone again for the 6th time. Love the size of the product but this cannot go on. Ive phoned up Pazion Trading an threatend lagal action against them for selling a faulty product, but spoke to a foreign person on the phone an we both could not understand each other. Surely something has to be done to stop these daylight crooks from taking our money so easy an selling a product that does not work.Trade an standards springs to mind!!!!!!!

After 3 years of ownership, including new battery, new switch, new 'wheel fixing' pins, my Mocad finaly gave up the ghost!  I am not inclined to buy a new one as its hardly been trouble free - any recommendations.  Notice currently a good deal on Hill Billy (free cart bag) but most colleagues seem to have Motocaddy or Powercaddy.

My playing partner has a Mocad and has had lots of trouble with it, had to send it back twice for repairs..last time for a new motor and its less than 2 years old. He has now got it back and the control knob on the handle is so sensitive it often sets off on its own can be very embarrasing wouldnt touch em with a barge pole..I have a Motocaddy S1 been great so far very light, looks the part, reliable, folds down to nothing and well made, highly recomend them.

My Mocad is now 18 months old and appears to have settled down as it is running very well. I have a plug in device at home which allows my to check how much power goes into the battery during charging which proves very interesting. I can tell how hilly the courses I play on are by the wattage required. Generally it takes 150 watt/hrs(1 unit of electricity being 1000watt/hrs), with a full charge in about 3 hours by which time the charger is quite cool - a better guide than leaving it on for 10 hours though it takes very little power once charged.

I do keep my fingers crossed when I read of the trouble many appear to have had with this machine. Being an electrical engineer if it does fail electrically I will take it to pieces and rebuild!
