Have started this thread so we can keep track of my gross birdies and money raised for breast cancer charities.
I will be donating in line with the following
£5 for a gross birdie £10 for a gross eagle £100 for a hole in one.
I have had 8 birdies and an eagle the past week so that is £50 so far. I will update after every round i play

 Nick - you're a hero ;o)

Who is going to join me and donate the same?
|
 |
I don't have that sort of skill nor a great deal of money. Instead I will donate £2 every time I three putt a green. It used to be £1 and earlier this year I £186 to Macmillan Cancer Care.
If you are fit enough to play golf, you are already a winner.

I'll double your final total Nick.
(The kids can have baked beans til Christmas!) LOL
Anyone else?

I already give by support of my wife's fund-raising for Macmillan, she's a "survivor". But I can't pass this by without at least a gesture of support, so I pledge £10 every time I don't break 80, and the way I am playing I could end up selling the house.

I'll total up using both Baloo and Lance's methods to the end of the year and contribute whichever is the greater sum. I'd like to think I'd be donating on the back of scoring a truck load of birdies but doubt that'll be the case. According to my stats, I three-putt at least twice per round on average but only score a birdie once in approx every 40 holes. My boss's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months back and is having all her treatment at the moment so we're hoping for the best for her.

Thanks all. Lets keep this going and get some serious money raised.
Kate, if i keep this going we are going to be a few quid out of pocket! Fine with me though

Seems like Padraig has followed your lead Nick, he's donating all of his prize money from this weeks USPGA to a breast cancer charity chosen by Darren.
Good luck Padraig. :)

I will match Baloo's idea for every time i three stab it!

 |

I've gross birdied twice this week. Seeing that it's something of a miracle for me, I'll call them at £10 each. So I'm at £20 so far.

Would be an idea if somehow we can all get together on this, and decide how we are going to tot up the totals, and pick a cancer charity as there are so many these days.
Given so many charities, all doing a good cause, my vote, is we go for whatever Podraig chooses, should he make the cut at Medinah, although as Lance started the idea, I guess he has the final say (given he has specified breast cancer) which is incidentally particularly close to my familys heart.

 Fen
I think it should be a breast cancer charity. I am trying to find out if there is a particular one Darren supports

 Lance / Nick,
Suits me, whatever you choose.
Assume you are in UK by reference to £ instead of $ or Euros....
breakthrough.co.uk breastcancercare.org.uk
though google will find many more!!!!
Just thought to myslef 3 stab should equal £3.
Therefore, for every 3 putt (or more), from now until end of Dec. £3 to whatever bc charity you choose.
Also play for a fiver every Saturday against one guy and cannot remember last time i paid out!!!, from now on , all monies won until end of year willl go into the pot!

 top man Fen

That's six quid in the pot today. It put quite a bit of pressure on my putting today (needless to say, I wilted).
|
 |
Just got back from a society golf tour. £12 goes in the pot.
|
 |
I'm in with Fen's contribution level ... don't expect much out of me, but I have got two rounds planned for this weekend.
|
 |
Couple more birdies at the weekend so up to £60
