Effortless power of Retief Goosen, perfectly captured in this clip from last year's Tavistock Cup in Orlando.

I wish I could swing like him, don't you?:

Retief, like Westwood, is a great example of a player who makes a chicken wing work for him. It's not as pronounced in the gooses swing as in Lees, however. Great to watch.

23rdman, what do you mean by a chicken wing? And are you a pro, you seem very technically minded!

Retief has a beautiful swing for sure. Il never forget watching him at Wentworth range during Volvo 04, rifling 2 irons to a pin 230yds away, every ball almost knocking it down. Nobody else on the range was hitting balls like him.

Byron Nelson started the modern swing but Sam Snead had the most graceful and powerful swing ever. I doubt Tigers swing will last much past 40, its too violent and will surely result in injury when he hits his late 30s.

Mr Rubbish, A chicken wing means the left arm is bent at the elbow at impact. This picture doesn't really show it well, but you can see it...

It's much more obvious in Lee Westwoods swing and is why he has such a pronounced dip at impact. I couldn't find any pictures, sorry.

Oh, and no, I'm not a pro, I just get a bit hooked on swing theory...not when I'm playing though.

Cheers 23rdman. I wouldn't have thought it possible to keep the left arm bent at impact, but he seems to do it alright! I think you can see it in this video link.

Seeing the top pros in slow motion, I am often surprised how much left leg movement there is in the back swing, and the Goose seems to have a very aggressive lunge with that leg on the down swing.
