Anyone tried them? Supposed to reduce the unwanted vibrations and shock at impact, while still keeping enough feel to tell a good and bad shot apart. While not having much effect on swingweight due to their location and being very light.

There seems to be the True Temper Sensicore and the Prosoft inserts. Some claim the Sensicore while more expensive, is more effective being able to reduce unwanted vibrations up to 70% compared to the Prosoft's 50%. Although some claim the Prosofts work better, so unsure.

Golfsmith seem to do a Sensicore 8-pack for $27.99, while myostrichgolf do 15 Prosoft inserts + installation tool for $21.95 (additional inserts $0.32 each). The Sensicores don't come with an installation tool, just need something to ram them down the recommended 7.5" from the butt end.

My friends experience of Sensicore shafts is that they can trap moisture on the inside and you get premature shaft wear. He had two shafts snap on his Mizuno clubs when less than 3 years old.

Yeah, have been reading up and a few report rust issues with the Sensicore, I guess due to their spiral tube shape. Supposed it's only an issue with steel shafts, wonder if it is a problem with TT shafts that come with Sensicore as standard?

The Prosoft inserts might be the better bet then. Cheaper and supposedly no rust issues as they are more of a solid tube in shape.

Just thought I'd re-open this thread as I've ordered some of the Prosoft inserts and installation tool off myostrichgolf.

Anyone used them yet?

Never used the prosoft, the sensicore are a wonderful moisture trap and if I had a pound for every shaft that had snapped right on the spot where the sponge insert looks reddest wth rust, well I wouldn't be a rich man but it means I always recommend against them. If people insist on it aftermarket I will use wooden dowels in the hosel. I have also used caulk backing strip in the past to no ill effects that I am aware of.

In the past I have used sensicore shafts with a set of Mizunos, the shaft of the 6i just snapped one day, luckily it didn't affect the ball flight as it landed on the green. To be honest, I don't think they make much difference to vibrations.

Installed my Prosoft inserts and some of the Lamkin Sting Free grips and had a session down the range today. Must say I was very impressed. Certainly did what it says on the tin.

As someone with knackered hands, a "softer" impact is important to me. Tried all these sensicore type things but found the best solution is graphite shafts. There are some good graphite shafts these days, you don't have to put up with the cheapo crap that the major OEMs stick in there irons (and then have the audacity to charge an extra £100 or more per set). Of course there is the prevailing attitude that graphite is girly or old man, but then its about what suits you best.
