How to lose your favourite putter. 1. Put your back out. 2. Lend your new S-Blade Greenstreak putter to your club pro (Ian Melville at Rutland County) while he plays the front nine and you're sat at home in agony. 3. Get a phone message at 930pm in which he tells you he's just shot the front nine in 29 shots, with 11 putts in total, your putter is "amazing and you're not getting it back." Bummer.

The last few weeks I've been absolutely tormented by my game. I've been terrible off the tee with woods and just as bad on the fairway/rough with irons. Snap hooking has been the order of the day for my last 10-15 rounds now and its infuriating. That said, my putting and short game has been the best its ever been. A couple of weeks ago I played in a stableford competition and played terrible. Virtually every drive was a snap hook, most of my irons were snap hooks or major pulls. But on and around the greens was awesome. I managed to get round in 24 putts with 10 putts on the back 9 and holed out from over 10ft at least 8 times. I ended up scoring 37pts and finishing 2nd in the comp.

Shakey, I know how you feel. I bought a Scotty circa 62.1 and had it fitted. I recently had some weight added and it was feeling ok, even though I was sticking with the 2 ball for the time being. Off I go on holiday to Newquay with the lads. One of them had a go of my Scotty on the practice green and asked if he could use it for the day, no problem I said. He goes and putts beautifully on really fast greens and begs me to swop his Scotty for mine. I am usually a heartless bustud but I didn't have the heart to say no. So now I have a new Scotty Studio Select which I need to get fitted all over a again. At least the Studio Select has the weights so it can be fitted properly, where as the cica62.1 was a bit of a botch it and scarper job. That said I am using my old TM daytona ATM and it is great so the Scotty is booted UFN.

Pengwyn, Are we alone in getting so attached to putters? They ARE a thing of beauty, aren't they? I used to play hockey at a high level and I had a couple of sticks that just felt amazing. I was, literally, heartbroken when they 'died'. I'll get the S-Blade back though. Not much point at the mo' with a knackered back.

Porky, Quick cure for a snap hook - concentrate on getting your left hip out of the way ie 'back' as opposed to shifting towards the target, (assuming you're a righty).

Shaky, would that help / account for a push as well ??

Sorry guys. Been off for a coupla days. McStumpy. Probably, I think it's all about creating space for your arms/club to get through. If you're 'cramped' in any way a pull or a push is the result (that's what I've been told anyway). Josh: www.sphericablade.com. They do work, honestly. Plenty of shaft options but no loft on the face at all,. so no need to worry about custom fit. Worth a look.

Have to say had a look at the website some shocking putters on display!, would probably go for the emperor, nice to see you can get lengths from 30" - 36" though

It's a shame but the only real information I can find on these putters is either by the company themselves, or just general news releases. I was hoping to find some independent reviews.

I bought a little blade putter on Monday when I got my Ping Irons. It was pretty and cheap and had a leather bound grip. Old skool charm I thought. Well I couldn't play that well with it so I wen't back my cheapo pro kennex and managed 13 putts over 9 holes yesterday. So now I just need to figure out which wall to mount the little blade thingy on... Its so pretty.
