I have played and won comps but I have always relied on my putting as I am not a big hitter. So I keep altering my 14th club. I give advice to people on what theirs should be but cant get my own right, so maybe I need someone elses opinion too. It is a choice between two.
I have tried a 12 deg R7 regular shaft and wanted to add something to my game for the par 5s so I was using it of the FW, it took me about 6 rounds of teeing off with short Irons ,so I could use the R7 on par 4s, before I started to make it work but it is a risky shot to take on no matter how good you are. However a small hitter like me can get to green in to on par 5s with it.
My other is a 37 degree chipper putter from slazenger, my strength is my putting and I need to make my puts count as most beat me from tee to green, my GIR is not always good but i have a record of 48 holes in a row where i needed no more then two putts, I started by using my mates chipper and was using a putting action over things like small bunkers and ending up inches from the pin, I love the club.
So I guess what I am asking is should I strengthen my weakness or make my game all about putting and make my strength very strong.
Thanks for advice, i'll offer mine where I can
