Remember Bob , you asked for this...
My Best moment in golf so far was almost 3 years ago on my Epic Visit to New Zealand to see my son and his Girlfriend after he Emigrated there.
Thanks to the Power of Golf-Magic I had arranged to play a round of Golf with a Fellow Golf-Magic member Paul Brunner , my son joined us as did Paul's Uncle , we played Paul's local course at Matamata , a beautiful Course set on rolling hills in bright Golden Sunshine in Temperature's of 28 deg C , what more could I ask for , I had great company in great surroundings on a great course , what more could I ask for ? well, a better game than I found myself using and thats for sure , I played like a Muppet , Paul played brilliant compared to me , he drove through the green on a 300 meter par 4 , it took me 4 just to get it on the green , my ball was of course the furthest from the pin , about 20 feet and it had to go across a slope that required a banana type putt, about 6 foot of break , sh*t I thought , 4 to the green and what looks like another 4 to the hole , I lined up my putt with the top of the break and put the only sweet roll of the day on the ball , I honestly thought in the few seconds between hitting the ball and it dropping in the hole that I had hit it too hard , then no its too soft , then oh sh*t I've read it wrong and a whole lot of other doubts and fears but like in a dream the ball rolled and slowed at the right point then it gathered speed as gravity took over and it finally dropped with the last turn of the ball reminiscent of Tigers famous chip , not nearly as skillful as his , but awesome for me , that was the best golfing moment for me , half a world away from home , in a Beautiful country and on a Great Course AND getting my Ars* Kicked and I managed to pull off a putt like that.
And what is my Golfing dream? , to go back there and get revenge for the battering Paul gave me , he's a great guy and a Gentleman but ooooooh! I'd just love it as Keegan once said " I'd Love IT! "
