I have always been a decent putter poor driver,  so this year decided to have lessons. Sunday was my best driving day i have ever had, hiting draws found 11 of 13 fairways. can you guess the rest, I could not buy a putt must have 3 putted 4 times & i never do that.

I'm now driving and putting okish, but hitting every iron from 5 to 9 fat or worse, roll on the day it all comes together

I have discovered this phenonemon many a time. I used to be a demon putter - could sink anything. I was also good at iron play but sucked at the short game. Then I got very good at the short game, but got bad at putting. I sorted out my putting (never got back to the demon putting though) - and became crap at iron play.

Sorted out my iron play then got bad at putting. Then I sorted out my driving and got bad at iron play again... and so it goes on.

Currently... great with irons, excellent at chipping - ok with putting. Driving sucks though and high shots within 30 yards.

It'll all come together one day... and I'll shoot low 70's!!

Wouldn't expect anything else from MD

Begs the question as to why I forked out for a Cleveland XLS... although to be fair the driver is fine... it's the idiot at the other end that's the problem!

I played in the office comp a few weeks back, all my work mate turned up TM drivers, I kept reminding them all the way round the 18 holes after my ball went past theirs 'my driver cost me £89 how much was yours ?'

They were fine, they did not mind a gentle ribbing.

I get a similar reaction when using my Hippo Hex!  All the TM's, Pings, Cobras and this thing is the equal of them.

Nothing wrong with Hippo, but the Hex !!!! that is one fugly driver

I prefer to call it homely

nice way to put it, glad I dont have a homely wife, saying that the club looks great in comparrison to the Hippo Hex irons, now they should have been drowned at birth, but hey this comes from the brand snob who traded a perfectly good Ben Sayers M1 ofset for a Taylormade R7 Draw that produced a near identical drive for me but costs £120 more
