Looks good to me, and if you arent breaking 90, then something is going very wrong on the course. I suggest that playing with whatever swing you have as it certainly looks good enough to shoot comfortably in the 80's every time, and focus on targets, and playing solid and conservatively. Remember the golf swing is about 25% of golf, a consistent and repeatable swing, warts and all, will win out over a great but flakey swing that breaks down under pressure.

Thanks for the advice. My problem is I hit the ball all over the place push/ pull etc meaning i can't go round without a couple of disater holes that destroy my card. I think the problem is inconsistent timing becasue I tend to throw the club down from the top.

I have had a couple of range sessions using the 9-3 drill really focusing on rotating the torso back and then forward to generate speed and trying to leave the hands/ arms/ shoulders more passive, and touch wood its early days yet, and not proven on the course but my shots do seem to be a lot straighter with this focus. I am going to persevere with this drill over the winter and it will hopefull improve my short game at the same time. Can't wait for next season though!

Sorry but doesn't look good to me - it's terrible.

Very armsy and have hardly any body turn in your swing. This alone will get you hitting your 5 iron 10 yeards further - 160 for a 5 iron shows that your not using your weight properly.
You lift the club at the top becasue your arms go past your body putting you off plane and probably making your bad drives a slice? Your hips are WAY too static in the downswing - again showing that you have no body movement, your feet are rooted to the floor and you seem to take an age to start the backswing

Stop teh video at impact - your dead below the waist - this is at least a 10-15 yard power leek.

Brutal but honest. On the range you should be critical and analytical on the course you should be artistic and feel orientated.

Ren thanks for your advice I would rather have some harsh honest criticism. I totally agree it is an armsy overswing, and for the last couple of weeks have been on the 9-3 drill to try and take the arms out and use the torso and hips to lead the turn. Early days yet but on the couple of sessions where I've started with the drill the few full shots after have tended to fly much straighter and a lot sweeter, like I say I only wish it was not winter so I could get out and actually play.

You are correct about the bad drives being a slice, not only that but as I said above I push and pull the ball all over the place, this season has been especially bad and have not broken 90 once at 18 handicap. In the past I used to just aim right of target and 9 times out of 10 i could guarantee a pull which would put me on the fairway, but this is not the way to play for any consistency.

Maybe once Im a bit more comfortable with my new body led swing I'll post again or maybe not as there are so many comments I don't know where to start! I suppose the proof will be in the pudding if I can keep the ball in play next year and get my handicap down!

Winter is a great time to work on the swing. Don't leave it too long between re-assesment otherwsie you'll get lost.

Don't listen to everything everyone says - your best bet is to watch your video (pausing at certain points) and comparing to a pga pro of similar age and build.
