Go to Mizuno and get fitted. They wont be able to see you for about 6 weeks so you will have plenty of time to reflect.

Yes Josh they do look the business

.How much notice would you take of the Mizuno site when they say what sort of handicaps the certain models are recomended for.? Its why I think the 200's  may be for me as I play off (steadily comming down) 18 at the moment

I assume low is + to -5

the first medium -6 to around -12

second medium -12 to -18

and anything else high or am I getting it wrong?

Six weeks for an appiontment Dave? Dont golfers know theres a recession on

eagle you could always get the 5-pw and pay about £389.... keep you RAM 3&4 then replace with rescues at a later date ?

And regarding what's low etc... lots of debate on this one and it's more to do with how well you strike the ball...

Some say low single figures, medium up to 16 and high over this.

Golf Digest have a breaking 70, 80 etc column and they give

High= 20+
Mid = 11 - 20
Low = 10 and under

Picked up a set of MX-200s at lunchtime today. I went for 5-PW with a couple of the new MX Fli-Hi hybrids.

 I managed to get an appointment at the Mizuno Fitting Centre at Clydebank within a week and the clubs were delivered to the Pro a week after ordering. I paid £470 for the lot from the Professional at Lothianburn Golf Course (on the outskirts of Edinburgh) who is also a Mizuno Fitter.

The guy at Mizuno also mentioned something about a Bettinardi putter for either £50 or £50 off, I wasn't really listening as I'm happy with my YES! Callie

Thought about MX25s?

You'd probably get them at a great price.

Show/hide user stats

I had a quick look at MX-25s the other day and you can pick up a new set for £349 from golfonline.co.uk. I couldn't find them any cheaper and a lot of places now have limited stock due to them being superceded by the MX-200s.

I may be wrong but I don't think you could get the full custom fit from Mizuno on a set of MX-25s although your local professional should be able to adjust the lie for a small fee.

im sure you would be fine using the mp -52 at 18 handicap try them both i say.

actually if you had the mp-52s you wouldnt have to play golf any more you could just hang around golf courses with your bag on show and beautiful women would just come up to you.

golf pros would want to talk to you, and golf courses would give you free merbership

Stuart,When I started playing golf   I promised myself a new bagfull of shiny Mizuno's when I got down to 18.That achieved Im gonna have them!

My origional set of Rams were a hybrid set ,i couldnt get on with the Hybrids so gave them away and a brought a couple of HiFli's Irons which although diddnt directly replace them gave me a couple of clubs that I could get up toward the green with from distance.

Erch, Im jealous Whens the Maiden voyage?

Steady,No I havn't thought about any other clubs I WANT THEM ONES!

By the way ,why dont they include a SW in the set?

Show/hide user stats

Hi eagle,

Maiden voyage is Saturday at Eyemouth, although I'm trying them out at the range tomorrow night. Playing Eyemouth as a possible venue for the works golf society next year. Will let you know how I get on.

Most people I know prefer the option of adding a sand wedge with different bounce depending on their home course. I personally have the Vokey Spin Milled 56.10 sand and 60.08 lob wedges at the moment but they're getting near to worn out and I'll probably replace them with the Mizuno MP-T wedges at the start of next season.

Dont worry too much about the handicap range. I tried out the MP-60 earlier this year as a friend was buying them and hit every ball great. Get a trial of the club and see how you like them. Most places will let you demo a club with no obligation to buy there and then.

most sets u get 8 irons and a lot let u pick 3-pw or 4-sw. dont think mizzy made sws for these cause they know they can sell u a mizuno wedge for 80 quid.

eagle i love mizuno irons too, im on my 3rd set in my life. i would kill for a set of 57s, or 52,s

i would actually kill some one. if anyone needs anyone killing the price is a set of shiny new mizuno irons.

I'm on my 2nd set of Mizunos and I love them!

When I took the plunge and actually joined a course (rather than playing council courses) I spotted & set my heart on a set of MX-17s. I told myself that when I broke 95 I'd treat myself to them.

This promise lasted about a month of me playing twice a week and lusting after them before I said f*ck it and bought them. I broke 95 on my first round with them and have had a couple of net 60s. They've lasted me 3 years and I've won a couple of comps with them but I recently decided to upgrade and was looking at the MX-25s which I thought I'd get after, or maybe for, Christmas. I'd also looked at, tried & been quoted a very good price on the MX-950s.

I was actually out on my mountain bike a couple of weeks back and decided to go to see my local pro about the MX-950s but when I got there I noticed he had the new MX-200s and just had to have them!

Don't tell mrs eagle. I didn't tell mrs erch02! The joys of having seperate bank accounts and a new credit card with 0% interest on purchases for 10 months!

The Mrs will kill me if I spend too much on golf clubs,Josh will kill anyone for a set of Mizzys .......Em what if I buy Two sets?

Sorry did I type that ,I was just thinking allowed

Eagle, make sure you get the right shafts for your new and shiny set and have a great time with them.

eagle best to get fitted for the 200's than take a gamble with what's left of the mx-25 stock. Worth the extra money in the long run and better to spend £390 than waste £250.

I've got my fitting next month and can't wait... will be interesting to see what spec they suggest as opposed to my current clubs fitted by my pro (r300, std length but 1 deg flat)

i was at birchwood golf club the other day and apprently the are a mizuno fitter type thing. i was looking through the window od the pros office and he had one of those massive bags that are there just to holf clubs when i looked in the bag there was all the new mizuno irons.

for about half a second i considred breaking in and runnign off with them all
