The Nevill is just up the road from me and has a pretty good reputation from what i have heard. It looks like a nice little course and i am considering joining as a member along with a friend. Obviously i will go and play a round or two up there first before i join but am interested too see if anyone on here has played it and what their experiences are.

Thanks

Nick..

Played there a couple of times this year in a Society, great course, pleasant people in the clubhouse and the pro Paul Huggett is very well thought of. As it is close to Tunbridge Wells you will know that it is quite 'posh' so you would have to mind your p's and q's.

I would echo Arnieboys comment! Especially about the ps and qs

Tunbridge wells isn't that posh!

Things have changed since the beginning of time Boa

The beginning of time? Isn't that something you would have known a great deal about in your formative years?

I agree with Kentish, the locals believe that TW is posh and act accordingly...especially at places like The Nevill and for that matter Hoopers and Fenwicks in the town centre! Ladies that lunch and all that!

Tunbridge Wells is where "The North" starts.

haha I am a local and i think you are generalising by saying the locals think its posh. Maybe the older generations do (70+)

Fenwicks is hardly a posh store, its just a department store like Debenhams or house of fraiser.

Anyway more opinions on The Nevill please. Are the members there anal? Whats the course like? etcetc

My eldest Brother was a member at the Nevill for quite a few years, and I have played it a few times.

Not a bad course at all, some nice holes and always in relatively good condition.

I had a couple of lessons with the pro (Paul Huggett) when I first started out, and found him to be very friendly and helped me no end.

I didn't really meet any of the other members so can't really comment on how friendly they are, but my Brother is the worlds biggest golf snob and I didn't really enjoy playing with him that much. Read into that what you will!!

Not an overly long course and not too much danger. I would have no hesitation in going back there for a game.

Rob
