I used to think football was the pits, but after enduring Euro 2008 we've now got Wimbledon. Don't know exactly why I hate it, maybe its because a match could take 2 hours or 5 hours, at least with football you know after 90 mins it's all over. Also, all the hype an TV coverage for Wimbledon doesn't carry over to tennis generally. How many people who queue to get into Wimbledon will ever go to spectate at a local/regional tennis event?

Not very keen on test cricket or bowls. But I do like the 20-20 and ODIs.

Iain Reid2 If as I suspect from the spelling of your names you are a Scot I'm not at all surprised that you dont like "other" sports. I would not be surprised if you mentioned that you are bookish and only like- or play golf because it is so popular in Scotland. Scotland, of course, has not as a nation been exactly renowned for sport of almost ANY kind for many years apart from that funny one whose name escapes me where a large round object is chucked down the ice and its progress is controlled by busy team members with brooms Just remembered. The sport?? is called CURLING. I just find it toe-curling!

I never understand why certain countries do no excel at sports, Scotlands excuse sometimes is due to our population of approx 5,000,000. Having said that, Netherlands and New Zealand are similar populations, but look at the success they enjoy at football & rugby.

Surfing, Skateboarding, Freestyle Skiing, Diving, Figure Skating, and all other "sports" that are simply thinly-disguised showing off. They're no more sports than ballet is. If you can't measure your achievement with a stopwatch, tape measure, scales, or by counting the goals/points/shots/runs, then it's just show business!

Broken Arrow Why did you lot not improve in the 431 years between Bannockburn when you were great and Culloden when you were awful?!

You know why, the stronger invader stole our money our history slaughtered thousands, sent thousands overseas and continues to steal our money to pay for usless wars. The British army should only be used for the defence of Britain nothing else.

How can you still say you hate tennis after that final. Great tv, only a shame someone had to lose.
|
 |
I was out on the course yesterday hoping to avoid the final. Did see some of the end, both players very gracious in defeat/victory.
