Most have commented on this in some way or other already. Just thought i'd start a thread to see if it would be possible, and who would be pro to a seperate forum instead of the classifieds which seem to be stuck in the darkest depths of the site. We have seen how popular the Swap Shop thread has been. Would it be possible Admin?

I had heard talks of such a place, but could never find it! But... all is well, I found it about 10 minutes ago!

I was directed there once, but almost nothing in it. A separate forum makes more sense to me, and maybe more in line with other forums - or just make the current area much more prominent

Make it a proper swap shop not rather than a classifieds. and easy to find on the site and easy to use. maybe a search function so you can see what people are after as well as what they have to offer.

As I said on the swap shop thread, and in response to an earlier query, I'm investigating with our production people, the expansion of this thread to give it more clarity and its own section. The original classified section is still available via the drop down Site Sections menu at the top left of each page but was given less prominence because it was being abused by unscrupulous dealers as well as by retail outlets. However, if there are genuine swappers out there - and it seems there are - Golfmagic is prepared to invest in some changes to embrace opportunities for Swap deals to be done among forum members. We'll need a few days to set up the changes so please be patient. ED

Damn right Bob about the scammers on the Classified Section... I had a few quite sneaky so and so's trying it on. It would be great if we could flag up and delete such posts quickly, so they dont pollute this section, which I am sure will be a big crowd pleaser.

Agreed S&F. Bob is there a notify admin button within the software? Used properly it would be a handy addition if/when used properly. would be good when our eastern fellow earth dwellers appear

Add in a seperate for sale / for swap / wanted forums and then have it so that people need to have been a member for x amount of posts or x number of months before they can post. That combined with RTM options seem to keep most forums I frequent quite safe, + I have some bits and pieces to sell that I don't think will be seen on the classifieds section

Maybe all those out of work developers from the defunct GM League could be set to work on a decent Classifieds section.

the best for sale forum that i use is on Singletrackworld.com for mountain biking stuff. There's only been about 2 cases of fraudsters on over the last few years that i can remember.

you could make people apply to be able to use it and if they are reguler posters or have a certain post count they are allowed to use it, this wil save the scammers taretting us
