I had my first lesson in 5 years today! After waiting 15 minutes on him to turn up, we got started. I set up and hit a few PW shots; every one was a shank Don't know why I was doing this. I don't normally, at least, not that frequently.

Anyway... it turns out I was standing too close to the ball, and my shoulders were open at address. After fixing these, the shank was gone! Never to be seen again. I hit some really good shots.

The pro kept commenting on how excellent my swing was! He couldn't believe that I wasn't playing off of single figures. He also asked me if I used to play off single figures in the past, and now just getting back into the game, but no, I play off ~17.

I went straight out on the course afterwords and hit my longest drive to date - carried at least 270 yards. Second hole - par 3, 118 yards - I hit a easy PW to within 4 feet of the hole and putted for birdie. Played quite well from there on.

I'm really trying to focus on keeping my head still throughout my backswing, before, I was dipping slightly and drifting a little to the right with my driver. I feel and look much better at address, and I'm looking forward to my next game!

Haven't had a 1 on 1 lesson for years. How much did you pay ?

Ego stroking does wonders for my game too. fortunately I can pay a caddy a few hundred bhat for the privilage!

just kidding. Glad the lesson went well. Maybe worth having one before a major comp?
