Anyone visited Mission Hills in China (Hong Kong) ?

Was wondering who you travelled with. It's quite tricky trying to figure out package prices.

Would appreciate anyone sharing their all-round experience please...

Firstly, don't confuse China with Hong Kong - I was working in HK last year and got invited to play MH - even though it was 2-3 hour drive each way on a Saturday it was still cheaper for my host than joining one of the few clubs in HK.

I had to get a full visa for China, even though I was going just for a few hours. When my host got to the border he had to drop me off and I went through immigration into China as if I had arrived by plane, and met him again on the other side.

There is a car park and cafe belonging to MH on the HK side of the border, where they pick you up in a shuttle bus if your car is not registered for China

The complex itself is amazing, massive clubhouse & 12 courses (216 holes in total), all with some incredible views

I played the Leadbetter - and am ashamed to say my golf did the course no justice whatsoever.

They have about 800 young chinese girl caddies who stand on the back of your buggy and hang on tight! Once they have seen you play a few shots they start picking out suggested clubs and walking with you from the buggy path to your ball, they really do know their stuff even if you can't strike up a conversation due to the lenguage. I am told these girls consider it an honour to be there, and often have to support themselves through the training, so make sure you reward them if they look after you

I am now v jealous - I love HK and would love to play out there again one day, this time properly!! Enjoy, and if I think of anything else I will come back here

Thanks, Paul - very interesting !

I've not committed to go yet, just thought it'd be a fun place to try out maybe next year...

72 hour visa for China is about £35.

If you're in the region, play Fanling (£100) and if you can Shek O (£35 with a member, no walk ins).
