Hi All,

I recently changed my irons from Titleist 704's to Callaway X16's (I know, they're shovels), felt like a change, and thought I probably wasn't good enough to get the best out of the 704'S anyway. Well I really like the Callies (still getting used to them)  they really are little divot  making machines, never seen so many divots (I was always a  pretty much clean  picker  of the  ball).

Anyway as a result of the new clubs (divot, weight, grooves) I've really noticed an improvement in strike/compression/spin which is great, but the thing is I now need to replace my worn Cleveland 52* RTG wedge, because it just doesn't put anything like the amount of spin on the ball as the Callies. The Callies rip the ball up like no other clubs I've ever hit (combination of the strike and grooves methinks)

So I need a new wedge, decided to go for a 50* as I feel this now best suits my bag as the PW is 46* and my 52* is now probably a bit to much loft for my game style. I don't feel confident in hitting partial shots/chips with the PW due to the wide sole on the Callie.

So can anyone please give me their recommendation for a 50* wedge, with a mid bounce angle, and good biting grooves, which wont cost me an arm and leg (already spent enough on gear TBH)

Many thanks.

Got a Ping Tour W wedge in 50* that cost me £85 less than 2 weeks ago. At that time I had X 20 tours and the PW was 46* but since then I got a chance of Rac TP's at a great price. I bought them but the PW is 48* so I had to buy a 52* gap wedge so  the Ping is surplus. It really is in mint condition, will let it go for £50 + postage. I have the 54* model of the Ping too, same deal.

Thanks for the offer DD, but I was thinking more of brand new from an e-retailer for about £40-£60. Sure you'll sell them!

Like I said Andy, don't really want to pay £70 for one, not that I'm tight just can't justify it (even to myself) right now!

Spanky,

I have Nike SV tours which are great, traditional looking with loads of spin.

Recently I was looking into a new lob wedge, the MD Golf Player series appealed to me. They came top of a Todays Golfer survey for spin and are cheap. Have a look on their site and ebay to get prices>
