Prof Bebbington, of St Andrews University, also visualises a car-sharing nation of vegetarians, a country with evolving values, 'respected and trusted' political leaders working form a virtual parliament, and Celtic and Rangers players sharing the same carbon-neutral diet.

The Old Course crumbling into the sea is about as likely as any of the above. Especially given that none of the course actually borders the beach.

I heard the silly cow on the radio last night....what it proves is this...

1) Make predictions of disaster and doom, get lots of funding for more research and continue skiving in a Uni.

2) Question the science of the doom merchants - get no funding and have to go and get a real job! Which pays less and mean more work.

No contest for the 40 year old student classes!
