Don't know how easy it is to get Adams gear anywhere else, but finally managed to track down some Adams Idea A2 hybrids over here in Belfast. Having tried most of the other well-reviewed utilitys (Heavenwood, Nickent, TM), I can't believe how good these hybrids are.

Easy to get up, great distance, and a really nice feel off the square clubface.

I just can't understand why it's so hard to find their gear, when so much of the new Adams stuff is getting amazing reviews on the other side of the Atlantic.

Just wanted to see if anyone else playing them and can assure you that I've no connection with the company. In fact I'd nearly given up on them after the UK rep didn't even bother answering emails when I got in touch to ask them about local stockists.....

SDF,

Got myself a brand new 17 degree Adams hybrid for 30 quid on ebay, I totally agree with your assessment. It's almost like cheating, it is soooo easy to hit.

Bought on a whim, but the 3 iron has already disappeared from the bag!!

How do they compare with the Nickent SDF? I've got an ironwood which I like, but I'm always in the market for new toys!
SDF,

I have a full set of Adams Idea A2 [OS] irons and I love them to bits - great improvement on my old set. I have even written a short review and sent it to GolfMagic Editor - hope he will see fit to publish it soon.

Know what you mean about trying to source Adams golf gear - I bought mine from American Golf retail about two months ago but when I went to see what else they do from the Adams range all I found was one golf glove !!

Since then I have resorted to buying further Adams gear from the internet providers in GolfMagic Shopping Partners section. I now have an Adams 56/13 Gunmetal Wedge [Sand Iron] and have just taken delivery [today] of an Adams "Tight Lies" hybrid club. These are excellent clubs also and I have returned from the driving range about fifteen minutes ago - couldn't wait to try the hybrid out - superb, and will be on a course with it tomorrow morning.

I've only demo'd the Nickent on the range and hit my mates a few times on the course, but A2's are by far the easiest to hit hybrid I've found.

My natural shot is right to left, but very rarely managed the horrible hooky daisycutter that my callaway heavenwood produced all too regularly.
SDF,

Update for you:

The Adams "Tight Lies" Hybrid [16 degree] is a whiz to use - excellent club either off a low tee peg, off the fairway or out of the shortish semi-rough - and was only £24.95 + P&P (online price).

Nice work, Tony. Sounds like a bargain. I paid full whack of £95 each for the A2 Idea 20 & 23 degree, but just glad to be shot of my heavenwoods to be honest.

I have 26 deg Heavenwood, my first hybrid. It is simply awful. No way could it replace my 4 or 5 iron. Goes dead right all the time. Doesn't even sit straight at address. E bay?
SDF,

Again, I know what you mean about what I would call "Over the Top" pricing for Adams gear. The online retailers are usually very similar in what they charge and Adams gear seems to be overly expensive. Do check them all out before you purchase any more - they can vary a lot at certain times - and also have "offers" every now and then where the price of one club seems to drop significatly. I watch their web sites regularly - that's how I got the "Tight Lies" club for less than half normal price.

Try Direct Golf UK for a great range of Adams equipment. They are great clubs. I own a set of Adams a2 OS clubs and have just purchased the Adams Insight Bul driver. Wouldn't play with any other clubs, so easy to use!!

Got two Adams rescue clubs and thought both were poor at best. Would like to try the Idea pro as this looks more suited to my game

Got the A3 Boxer hybrid 22 degree. Hits the ball miles but straight right. No problem with any other clubs but this one is a problem. Anyone know if a different technique required for this particular club ?

R U swinging like an Iron or Wood?

You need to swing like an iron, despite what they look like!

I have an A3 set and find them fantastic,

Ok. Thanks Darren. Will get myself to the range and try your suggestion.

give it a go, despite us all knowing the iron and wood should be swung exactly the same for some reason most do swing their woods a little different.

I strugled when I first had an Adams A2 hybrid, i'm sure because I'd look down and saw what I thought was a wood and not an iron - now i swing just like an iron and keep my eyes a few inches infront of the ball - works everytime.

Also sounds as if your not rolling your hands in the swing at/after impact. A sure sign of straight right!

Craz-e, I've got the Adams Idea Pro set and can thoroughly reccommend both the irons and hybrids.

These are mine

I have just bought an A3 Boxer hybrid and find it very easy to hit. The big revelation, however, was the Insight XTD 3 wood. Never been able to hit a 3 wood well off the fairway until I tried one of these.
