I haven't played golf for nearly 10 years but i am starting to play again this summer. I want a set of club that are going to be forgiving enough to use for now but also will grow with me as my handicap drops.

I was playing off 10 on a pretty hard and long course ebfore i stopped playing to give you an idea of skill level.

So are the X20 a suitable choice or are there any better options?

Thanks in advance!

im not a fan of callaways i had a set and they just feel dead of the face no matter how well u hit them.

Thers so many choices out there now and so many good irons.

people have been raving lately about MD Snake eyes, benross stuff. personaly i love mizuno irons

Were they the X20 you had or others, as the X20 are meant to have more feel than other callaways such a big bertha etc

I had used to Callaway x-20 after only playing for 2 month. I shot a 18 Over Par round off a HC of 28+.

They are very easy to hit, go a long way so wedges will ned to be bought. Very forgiving but playing off 10 before you wont need loads of forgivness. I went for a little more style and got the AP1's. £400 which are cheap compared to others and they give you much better feel for ball control than the X-20's.

But like everyone else says get your self down to range and hit 4-5 Irons. See which you find worst and set them a side and have a little knockout comp. Just dont hit too many with the same club in a row.

Good luck and let us know how you get on and what you spend your special money on!

i had BBs if you go down the range and try diffrent clubs out, rember only hit 3 balls per club, after this you will start adjusting your swing to fix the mishits.

BB are really ugly too look at but if you hit them well so what . Get what suits your swing and then take looks into it after you ave decied which you hit equally.
