Can he really win the Open?

I hope he does win (Norman). It would be magnificent.

I missed most of the golf yesterday as I was on "A Grand Day Out" with the nippers, so all I got to hear was a bit of 5Live commentary.

First thing I've got to say is where did Andrew Coltart get his "happy" demeanor from? He must've gone to the Alan Hansen school of joviality! What a dour c**t he is!

Secondly: I like Mark Roe, I like him a lot but... I heard Norman & Choi complete their round on the journey home. Roey called Norman's round "Stunning" - which it must've been - and so I was really looking forward to watching it all (Sky+). And then he said this: "Of course it's somewhat diminished because Tiger isn't in the field but..."

I'm sorry but that's unforgivable! Tiger doesn't win every major he enters does he? And while he wins more than his fair share it's not a 100% record is it!

Then on watching the TV coverage Wayne Grady (at every opportunity) kept on saying "...of course Tiger's not in the field..."

FFS! Greg Norman is fifty-f'kin-three years old, plays once in a blue moon and has comfortably been the most consistent player over the last three days.

Sadly we all know of Norman's last day major blow-ups but if he were to win I just hope he fills the Claret jug full of tabasco sauce and then shoves it in both Roey & Grady's respective faces (making sure the seeds get in their eyes)!

What a pair of tw*ts!

Norman joint 3rd but isn't that irrelevant? It was one of the best performances I've had the pleasure of watching

P.S. The SHIFT key does wonders for capitals.

my shift key is broke! of course ints not irrelevant, its a competeiotn where 1st is eveything, and joint 3rd is nowhere apart from being 3rd

Cant agree with you Josh for  Greg Norman a 53 year old who now plays golf just for fun to finish 3rd in the most coveted tournament in golf  is a great achievement and to play to the standard he played in very trying conditions is a lesson to us all. Well done Greg a real sportsman.

Should have won?  Why so?  How many players figure at the top of the board at different stages in a tournament?   They all should have won?  I suppose the guy who was top of the board at some point   because he birdied the first and was 1 under should have won? (The fact that he had only played one hole is, of course, irrelevant.)

no nb your being vesious, up to the start of the day he had played the best golf, if he reproduced any of that form or play he would have won
