[RANT]

I played for about 10 years then had an 8 year break, have been back a month and my swing and feel for the game is returning nicely.

Tonight I was 4 over after the front nine and was very pleased with myself. But the back nine was absolutely terrible i must have dropped 20 shots!

I have calmed down now but i had a face like a slapped arse coming off the course!  It is soul destroying.

Yep for me the inconsistency of my game is the hardest to take. I have played a whole round and not felt I hit the ball well, then all of a sudden I will cream one and I am hooked again.

I suppose that as your bad shots get less frequent and your worst are not as dreadful, it shows that you are improving.

What surprised me when I started playing was that even low handicappers hit bad shots, just a lot less often than me. Their worse shots were also nowhere near as devestating to their round.

yeah what gets me is most other people seem to have good rounds and bad rounds, which i could live with, but when you have a good 9 holes and then a bad nine in the same round it is so hard to get your handicap down.  then you get stick for being a "bandit" when people play you in match play!

I have found when i hit a bad patch and things are not going right, is to stand back and watch another party of players. Watching somebody else make bad shots seems to give me my confidance back and my swing.

Worsed thing you can do in golf is to try and hit shots that are not achievable(we all do it) Try and hit a ball 200 yards onto the green.Take out a 7 iron lay up and put your 3rd on the green at least until your feeling confident again.

Also instead of hitting a wedge from a 100 yards use an eight as you dont have to force it.and its easier to keep on line
