At an emergency meeting of the committee at a local members club it was stated that the Ladies Captain and her guest were most upset at  the swearing of Gentelmen members on missing  putts on the 18th green.She stated in her complaint that whilst having a glass of wine, enjoying the evening sunshine on the balcony with her freind she could plainly hear Gentlemen golfers cursing their bad luck.

After the meeting a memo was attached the notice board

Amendment to club rules; Please note with immediate effect Ladies are no longer allowed on the Balcony

It just goes to show that sexism is still rampant.

That is a true story, but it happened a few years ago, cant remenber the club.

Royal St Georges supposedly had a sign which read "No Dogs or Women", untrue evidently.
