Only reason I will know its winter will be cos its colder and the white tees will have gone.. we have had at least 2 tempories for over a week now Oh Gloom!! can somebody tell me about this under body armour please? Is it that stuff that looks like long sleeved nylon tee shirts the pros wear? I believe there are two types one that keeps you cool and the other warm is that right?? bit like a thermos than..

As I understand the BASE layer system, there are 2 types. One for hot weather which really keeps you cool. I have a NIke varient of this and it is great but can really cool you down if worn on a cold day.

The other type is worn on cold days, they keep you warm and dry, wicking away moisture. There are a couple of levels here as well, one for us British golfers and another thicker type for skiers in really low temps.

Hope this helps.

Got myself some thermal Regatta trousers from T J Hughes at the weekend(£15). They are lined and waterproof with plenty of zipped pockets to hold tees, keys etc.

Winter golf doesn't worry me, after many years on motorbikes (and some would say a reasonable layer of natural insulation) I am happy in the cold as long as it's dry:

Like;

Crisp mornings, especially a bright frosty one

Peaceful course

Dislike:

Heavy rain - won't tee off in it, but have only walked off once after getting caught the wrong end of the course

Temp greens - as a nomad I am still expected to pay full price for a poor game

Temp tees - as above!
